New Perennials for 2020 Garden Answer Holly: I love Alliums, and would like to plant some more this summer. I have the purple Echinacea, and love the purple color but would like to add a yellow or orange one to the mix. Hybiscus are such a beautiful flower and love that it comes back every year. Your picks for perennials are beautiful, and I can't wait to put some of them in my garden, I love any flower that attracts bees and butterflies, and even humming birds. Thanks so much Laura and Aaron for sharing this video it was so helpful and full of great information, see you soon, bye for now.

Hi Laura. Zoning question. l live in Central Florida zone 9b where things succumb to humidity in the late summer (gomphrena, lavender, etc. I'd like to plant the Magic Show Purple Illusion Veronica, but it's zone 4-8. The Proven Winners website says, If your zone is equal to or higher than the zone listed for the plant, it will be hardy for you and thrive in your climate. Are the zoning guidelines for cold temperatures only, or does it consider heat and humidity too? Should I take a chance on this beautiful plant?

I do understand the need for pollinators but I just have one burning question. Butterflies, Lady Bugs, and non stinging pollinators I can deal with. But Bees, Wasps, Yellowjackets, etc that sting or are aggressive makes weeding, and tending my garden, picking my food, difficult. Every year I am stung, probably not the only one. But this fear makes me neglect my flower beds, and food garden what can I do? Just get over it and go out there anyway?

Oh gosh! I have tagged my march 12 bday gift to me with so many of your perennial suggestions from this post and past posts! I'm so excited to order march 12! Thank you! Thank you! I've ordered from proven winners from your suggestions in the past, but for some reason it comes from out east. I'm in Nevada. I'm searching for closer sites! Your Mom's garden Center is definitely closer!

I went shopping today and picked up a Boogie Woogie sedum and a couple of the Magic Show Wizard of Ahhs Veronicas. I also chose several Truffula Pink Gomphrena, a Summerific Berry Awesome Hibiscus, quite a few Snowdrift Vista Supertunias, a Sum and Substance Hosta, a pair of Mars Madness Hibiscus, and a few other things. I'm hoping they do well for me.

I have a gazebo that I would like to plant a climbing rose on each side to climb up the sides and along the top. What would be the best rose that blooms the longest? I thought about the iceberg climbing rose after seeing the one at your parent's garden. Do they do good or do you know of a better one? I live in a zone 7 in TN.

My yard has many trees and shrubs getting plants in the ground now is impossible, so I use pots in the landscape. I would like to plant more perennials in them. is there any guide lines? Definitely will be planting the sedum Boogie Woogie though in pot it is so cute. I have had luck with some grasses and hostas.

I'm so excited to plant my first real garden this Spring! How do you know your soil's ph level? Is there a website I can rely on for regional data, or would it be better to test the soil on my property? What range is considered normal and what do you consider very low or high? Thank you!

I noticed you mention some of the plants being resistant to rabbits, a problem I am sure I will have in my flower beds I am currently designing. Is this information listed separately on plant tags or if its deer resistant can I assume its rabbit resistant as well.
