Fun New Tool for Trimming Branches Garden Answer Don: Not in your video but always remember the chain oil. Even battery operated tools need lubrication. Would not recommend people use ANY chainsaw on a ladder pole saw or regular. Very dangerous. Hence the pole saw. If you have branches you can't reach time to call a tree service. Great review however and probably helped me decide which pole saw to buy. I have a so-called normal chain saw but sometime you just need something less and this looks like a quality tool.

great tool! it does look a little precarious to have it over your head too high but otherwise, booya! i'm with you: if it makes the job easier, go for it! i have very little need for a tree trimmer although i do have the pulley type - we just have a couple of palm trees, lol, and those get professionally trimmed when needed. i miss big ole trees sometimes but i also don't have a yard big enough for them, ha. battery-powered tools are the best!

If you are planning on doing this, please wear hard hat when doing this. I have seen a person have their head split open by a branch coming down, and it was not a very large branch. Even if you are not directly under the branch, you cannot predict how the branch will fall, especially if you are not harnessing the branches. And if you are on a ladder, you can not duck out of the way!

I bought one of these with my stimulus check after seeing this video. I just rewatched so I could see you use it before I try. I didnt see you put oil in it. There is a place for oil, and directions say to get a good oil and empty after each use. Did I not understand, or did you not know it? Please answer so I can go ahead and use it. I dont want to use oil if I dont have to.

I just have to say what an Inspiration you are, Laura. I am not an avid gardener but I have used so much of your advice for my regular yard work. You inspired me to get a pole saw and to tackle 3 huge overgrown trees all by myself no hubby or tree service needed and I just had the best yard work day ever tackling those trees! Thank you so much!

Im not seeing any other comments about adding oil, m so I cant stress enough people, add the bar oil before each and every use. You may even want to drain it when the job is done, these things tend to leak when sitting around. Thats why you add oil before every use, it leaks out. Maybe even during the use if the job is a big one. l add oil,

I am a bit confused because the BOX shows a DCPS620B model, and the link takes you to a DCPS620M1 Model? Which is which? There is almost a $50. 00 price difference. I hope they are just the same in terms of performance. Can someone please help me out here so I buy the right one. Thank you so much!

I think there is always a safe limit to things, so people who do not know what they are doing do not cause needless and senseless accidents. I have a wooden tree trimmer and when you use both pieces, it is twice as hard to keep stable. Please be safe. How was your neck at the end of the day?

I just got my Dewalt trimmer. I'm looking for reviews so I can operate it properly. I'm flaming your demo. You violate too many safety rules. A beginner will pick up on what you are showing. Safety first each and every time. One acccident too many. Also. did you add oil before using?

Might be a good idea to wear a hard hat, eye protection and gloves for this job. Someone to steady the ladder would also be prudent. I say this from experience. Factors like wind should be considered also, as tree branches can fall in unexpected directions possibly hitting you or your ladder.
