Three New Plants for the Moon Garden! Garden Answer Heather: 10: 32 - I love how your terracotta pot has that white calcium build up on the bottom! Ugh, it's so gorgeous, I'm so jealous. I haven't been gardening that long, so my pots haven't acquired that yet. I saw where some people paint their pots to replicate it, but that looked silly to me. So I bought hydrated lime and mixed it with water and painted it on some pots, and then sanded the majority of it off. Which is the closest diy I've seen yet, but still, nothing's quite the same as the natural mineral build up you get over time.
So gorgeous. Had to pause the video to mention how beautiful I thought it was

I have a question about zones. For us living down in Southern California the traditional hardness zone is meaningless and to me is becoming more and more irrelevant with areas becoming warmer. I wish growers and gardening programs like yours would also provide heat zone and drought zone tolerance which would be far more helpful. Most folks don; t have wells to get there water and rely on municipal water that can become extremely costly during the warmer months. Thank you and we do really enjoy watching!

Hi Laura, I have a white garden now for almost 30 years - my whole garden. might sound boring but the white and green just always pop and white always looks amazing in the hot summer months! White iceberg Roses in different heights and shapes, white inpatients and begonias, daisies, veronica etc. the only colour I sometimes mix in is purple. Very difficult to find white flowering plants that are not easy growers. Never knew my garden had a name. moon garden! Enjoy your new white garden!

Laura, love love love the Ruby Glow Euphorbia in the pot. I've heard you mention this several times but I'm confused by the name? I'm a huge fan of an annual plant you also love and use: Diamond Frost Euphorbia, with tiny white flowers. So is this a completely different plant with the same name? Or is it same family and the Ruby Glow is a perennial? Can you please explain the difference? Thanks, Stephanie

Hi Laura! I have a question about Dahlias. I ordered tubers and I have been wondering, what your plan is for yours. Are you going to give them a head start in the greenhouse in pots or are you going to plant them right in the ground around in May? I am in the same zone as you so just curious on how you do it. I have never grown them before. I love your videos and I'm a huge fan!

I think this is a first for me, Im not sure about what youve done. I think I would have placed the daisies at the back and the Veronica in front. You said you didnt want it to look plonked in, but I think it does, but the main thing, is as long as you like it thats what. Alters. Im surprised actually, its the first time I havent thought wow. maybe Im just getting old

You talk about the importance of bees all the time. I've got honey bees trying make a nest in my Wrought Iron furniture on my front porch. I don't want to hurt the bees but I need to get them to move to a different location. Do you have any advice I'm how to discourage them from swarming around that furniture. If I can get them to move I can caulk the holes closed.

Very pretty! I'm all set to get going but the Proven Winners online-ordering site is picked over all ready. Very few Superbells and Supertunias in the pastel shades left: ( That's not to say they won't be in stock again at the end of the month but I reckon there'll be another run on them then too. None at Home Depot or Lowe's for delivery either.

I am SO HAPPY you decided to go with the moon garden theme for that area. It's going to be so striking, even during the day. The crisp, fresh nature of white flowers against the various textures in green is so refreshing, especially on hot days when you feel like you're melting. And, I love the plants you've chosen so far. Brava! Lisa

Your videos are really helping me get through quarantine. Not only do they inspire me to get outside and work on my gardens, but I love them so much that I tell myself I cannot watch them unless I am exercising while I watch them. Thanks for being there for so many of us that really need peace, calm and beauty in our lives right now.
