Tulip Update + Weekly Recap Garden Answer Adrian: As far as fungus knats I sprinkle some Summit Mosquito granules or crush up the Summit Mosquito dunks and add at the base of plants. Its Organic and safe around pets children & wildlife. I havent gotten any mosquitos or knats for the last 4 yrs indoors or outdoors. Add it to the top of the soil in beds or planters. Dont bury them. I add to every plant pot. They last about 30 waterings or a month if you water daily. Amazing stuff. For ants I use Terro baits. I place them near the area they congregate or under bushes weighted down with a rock and they take it back to the nest where it kills the nest. I put them out in early March and thru out the summer till winter. Not as safe as the other so keep children & pets away. Its basically Borax soap & sugar in liquid form. The sugar attracts but the Borax kills the ants when ingested.

I don't think I'll ever plant anything if it wasn't for you Laura! Gardening was something I didn't look forward to owning a house. My husband never asked for anything except that one time when he said to have different kinds of flowers blooming all year round in our garden. It may sound easy for anyone, but for me that was a tall order. Thanks to your videos as the task that I thought was impossible, is now a reality for me. We live in Victoria (Vancouver Island, BC & gardening around here is like a competition. It's nice to get compliments on my very first project and looking forward to doing more in our front yard. You are such a joy & I am ever thankful for the inspirations!

Hi Laura and Aaron! First of all, thank you for answering my question on the espalier needing to be transplanted later on. I really enjoy these Q&A videos, as well as your other ones. Your tulips are so beautiful! I love the way you answered some of the questions people asked. You have a great way of doing this. It's just that so many of the nosy questions have been asked and answered before. Your personal life is yours and people need to respect that. You share so much with us already nd I really appreciate that. Thank you so much for sharing! Oh, and Russell does love you! It was nice seeing Benjamin and Cheddar, too!

I had a rhubarb that went to seed a couple years ago and cut it off and dragged it along a drip line on the back fence a couple years ago. Jump to last fall, I see a few little leaves every so often right where an emitter hole was and almost plucked them thinking they were weeds. I did a quick app photo check and it came back wild rhubarb, I don't even know what that is but it reminded me somewhere in the recesses of my mind that I had done that so long ago. I'm soooo excited to see if they come in this year and look like a tropical border with those big, lush leaves and red stems!

Well, I wonder if you answer questions from recap videos too: ! Because of all of your inspiration I had a beautiful patio full of tulips and daffodils this spring but they have died down and its time to get my vegetables growing. I want to use some of the same containers on my patio for other things. Is it best to remove the bulbs from the containers before planting other plants? I hate to have the containers tied up until next spring, and I know I need to give them time to take in the sun for next years blooms. Im undecided about what to do next.

Hello i live in amity, oregon. I have a jade plant. I was wondering when bugs get into it do the eat the roots? I took it out of the pot cleaned the roots off and cleaned the pot it was in with bleach water, then i bought new soil and neem oil. I sprayed the neem oil all over the plant and put it in new soil. Will it survive? when i repotted it about 3 months ago because the roots were coming out the bottom, so i repotted but then all a sudden bugs. Help!

Thank you for giving all your followers insight, inspiration, and wonderful entertainment from your gardening lifestyle. You are good at keeping your cool and patience. Im sure it is trying when you create your videos, and people still ask you questions you already answered in your videos. The teacher in me would have said go back, listen again, and pay attention lol. You are a wealth of garden knowledge, and I appreciate all the effort your family makes in educating all of us.

I am so glad that you brought up the cost difference for demographics according to the area that you live. There are so many garden centers, and places like Home Depot in my area, that it can take a full day just to number one, find what you are looking for, and two get the best looking one. Sometimes I don't go for price but for the healthy looking plant.
