Flower Alley Part 2: Simple Container Ideas for Full Sun! Garden Answer handmade: An unsolicited plug here for Proven Winner's Water Wise drip system! Saw it first here on Garden Answer. Have it in use in two locations on our property. One waters multiple pots of different sizes on steps at our back door (the primary entrance at our home, but the REALLY helpful set-up is in a large collection of bonsai which vary greatly in size and shape. With Deep South summers, this has been a HUGE blessing as when we are way and temps are over 100, but also a great relief time wise for us when home. It was tedious to set up on the bonsai because there are so many plants, but once done, it has been great. Love your pretty combos, Laura. NOW. if I could just find a good collection of PW plants for sale somewhere near where I live it would be great!

Aloha e Laura, I recently found supertunia vista bubblegum at a local big box store. Can I tell you how excited I was when I saw the proven winners display. Unfortunately, the plants were TERRIBLE. They were long and leggy, had mildew at the base and in overall bad condition. After 45 minutes I came home with three of them. Any advice on how to handle these plants? No other nursery in my town carries these so You can image how excited I was only to be disappointed.

Trying very hard to understand planting. I watch and copy all most all the plants you review and give us insight. I have found that many plants are not available in Rhode Island? Should I mail order the plants I'm interested in? Also, the container plants are perennials? Will they come back next year or do I replant them in my beds? Thank you for educating me on planting and plants. Look forward to your next videos.

Hi from New Zealand, could you please, please give us the zone details for your annuals, as some things that you use as annual are perennial for me. I Have petunias and African daises as perennials. And I would love to know if there are other plants i can grow as perennials too. Although we dont often see proven winner brand here very often. Thanks in advance

I love the look of the first container. I do think I want to use some of that Pennisetum this year. But I have terrible luck with verbena of any kind. They look great for a while then the foliage will start to brown and burn out and blah! So I will have to find some other friends to go with the Pennisetum and dichondra. Maybe pentas!

Yes - bacopa is almost impossible to revive once it wilts. I find lobelia even more difficult. Pentas I adore but I think they too can be fussy - I think I tend to overwater, but it also may be the humidity here in Michigan. Have you ever grown heliotrope? They are a deep purple/blue and their scent is heavenly. Vanilla sweet.

I LOVE the Silver Falls. I could have a TON and would love it all. :-) I Wintered over a small one. Going to use it outside somewhere. Hope to find more this yr. to add to it. I really like the pinks and white with that gray pot. Classy and sweet. Pintas are sold a lot in the Summer in my area. (Iowa) Mostly in deep pink.

I thank you Laura for showing us containers on a smaller scale. That's mainly what I'm able to work with. These are so beautiful. I'm not able to do drip, do you have advice on hand watering. I always love the purple arrangements but the pink tones are gorgeous. Thank you so much for this series of planters.

I have a question about Supertunia's. I've always used Wave petunia's in my baskets, but you do need to do a lot of dead-heading all summer. Are all super-tunia's self cleaning or is it just the Vista series? Can you explain what we're looking for when purchasing a self-cleaning variety?
