Love this pretty porch and I'm excited to see you deck it out for fall. I wonder whether the ivy is the vector for the spider mites. Almost every time I grow ivy it ends up having them. It's one of my favorite plants in the house and in the garden, but I hesitate to use it anymore because of the mites. I'll be watching your spider mite video with great interest and hoping you don't have to ditch those boxwoods. Lisa

Here in Boulder, Colorado we had snow and freezing temperatures yesterday and overnight. So, we just enjoy our pots all summer and hope to have them last until first frost. I now have pumpkins that are not real as they freeze or squirrels munch on our carved pumpkins. I will just watch Laura do all that outdoor fall change up. I planted several hydrangea this year including lime light with inspiration from Laura.

I saw an ad for Brecks bulbs and impulsively checked out some bulbs online. I noticed they have a beautiful assortment of Lilly bulbs but I don't recall seeing any in your garden. Do you not favor lilies or am I just not that observant when it comes to your garden space and what you grow? I heard from my mother-in-law they are toxic to cats. Maybe that's why I've never seen them.

I really like the simplicity of the window boxes with the ivy and box. I think I would just surround them with pansies in one colour you love. Sometimes, overcomplicating things doesn't look as good and you have all the other containers going on. The ivy wil taper off again with a bit of time. I have the same one growing outside and it is very pretty, especially in the winter.

I like seeing the porch decorations in stages. Its a nice change. QUESTION: Re the boxwood, could you do a video series where you put them in planter alley and treat them for the spider mites and show us the progress? It would be really educational to see the time and effort involved in overcoming mites since its something we all struggle with. Just a thought.

Hi there from New Mexico! I absolutely love your videos. Im wanting to start some fall crops to harvest in the winter! Id love to see what veggies and crops you plant in the fall that can tolerate cold temperatures. Also, curious if you transplant and move bulbs throughout your yard and if you do, how do you do it? Now I am inspired to get started on fall ideas for my front garden. I am going with what I have, which is a bunch of Gloriosa daisy plants that I was going to move later but now think they will be part of my fall decorations. I planted them from seed in June so they are coming into bloom now.

Yes yes enjoyed both parts. It is nice to have the variety. Looks so nice. Funny I was looking at the window boxes before you trimmed them and thought how very nice they looked with the ivy hanging the way it does. Shows we all have different opinions. Have a great day!

Why did the irrigation system not turn on? Could you see that it wasn't running on your phone app? I'm changing from soaker hoses to something else next year, and learning all I can. OH! Aaron should do an in depth video on irrigation systems!
