Planting My First Containers for Fall! Garden Answer vidbot2007: Hello Laura, please do you plant perennials in your green house for the same year transplanting and blooming. I am asking because i planted some seeds directly into soil and some were transplanted after planting indoors before the last frost. but they do not seem to be doing well and almost none bloomed this year. I know you use a lot of PW in planting but also see you have a green house so I was wondering, if you sow your seeds early in the green house and get flowering from some of them the same year. In one of your videos you mentioned delphiniums don't flower the same year- but would this be for majority of the perennial plants?

Fun to watch you start fall plantings and decor! Helped me feel better as most my beautiful flower pots and freshly barked flowerbeds are completely ransacked from the extremely high winds and smoke from fires south of us yesterday and today! Leaves and branches blanket my little acre! I had some huge pots tip over, one ceramic pot had a maple tree in it totally tipped over. The bugs were already damaging many of my flower baskets and pots despite fighting them with insect sprays. Sad, but after this I just want to give up on all my hard work for the season! So tired.

I thought for sure you guys were going to get hit with that cold front that dropped down from Canada.
We got blasted in Colorado, to way below zero. in the teens in fact with snow!
Glad to see your fall easing in a little nicer. Planters look so full and colorful. Quite a different look than usual!

Those seem like the perfect containers beside your front doors. Yay! I bet you will be really happy with those for many years! Size and shape in awesome proportion, and Japanese Maple gives just the right height. What a beautiful arrangement. Can't wait to see what comes next!

Laura, what's going on with your left front door on the front porch? It looks like someone used a crowbar three or four times to loosen the door frame or possibly try a break in. Just concerned for your safety is all.

Love it when its time to do your fall planters, I get so many ideas! Is there any chance you could put your carriage lights on dimmers? This way you could adjust them to let the twinkling lights show up more at night.

Laura, I really wanted you to sit down on the bench 2: 47. that bench is great. Those containers will look quite beautiful once you do the autumn number on 'em. Thanks for videos to watch. I am grateful.

I have the colorful yellow leaf plants (Croton) inside as a house plant and I only can get green leaves as new growth. I have it in a full sun area. Any ideas on how to encourage colorful growth?
