Wreath Project & Power Pole Removal Update! Garden Answer Janine: I work for an electric utility and although I agree that the view is very lovely without power poles, and I am all for underground where it is feasible, our members are every bit as excited (as you) when the new power poles are put in at their property and they think theyre beautiful, because it means theyll have power. Guess its just perspective. Lol I would like to have the power put underground at my place too someday. A different utility serves my home, which doesnt make any difference in the cost, just the convenience in scheduling. Youve waited a long time for this day and were all so happy for you! In my years of experience, I have found that linemen are definitely some of the nicest, kindest, most capable and caring people youll ever meet! Some may have gruff exteriors but theyve got soft, generous hearts.

i love how that mulberry looks out there now with the poles gone, trashcan area gone, concrete gone, it's such a wonderful welcoming tree, in a way it's a nice compliment to the maples, always need that tree variation! i always get so sad at the other comments saying to remove it! i know when a tree gets genuinely dangerous but come on, they gotta give it a chance, it's not often you get to see a grand old tree. With the power poles gone it's already so much easier to view the property as a whole. Have you considered to collect some mulberry fruit with benjamin (and the new baby by then) to see if you can get a new tree out of it, sorta like a successor?

Hi Laura! I love the way the wreath turned out. The yellow ribbon looks so good with the dried fruits and red would have clashed. The view now is so much better and I'm so happy you were able to have the poles removed and the lines buried. It's always a joy seeing Aaron and Benjamin. Like others have said, it would be nice if a video could be done showing before and after shots of the areas you've done. It would not involve any filming, but fill in the gaps when you need time to yourself. Maye it could be done is several shorter videos to spread them out. Thank you so much for sharing!

I wish our neighborhood had underground lines, however, even if it did the neighbors across the street would keep the pole so their farm light would be there. It is not a pretty sight. Love the way that one item has changed the look of your property, even if you hadn't bought the field it would look so much better. I know why our neighborhood isn't underground, it was first developed before underground wiring was available here. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and warm!

Okay, weird question. Do you guys have to plow your property when it snows or is it dry snow that blows away? Just curious because I imagine its hard to plow with your gravel driveway. On another note, I love the reimagined wreath for the chicken coop. I love how you always go beyond what we traditionally consider for holiday and create what can easily carry through the entire winter season. Victoria magazine take note!

My daughter made a wreath of pine cones when she was in third grade, she is in her 40s now. Other than an occasional gluing it has lasted and I just gifted it back to her and she has it hanging In Her entry. Love your videos and loved seeing you all out enjoying the snow. I have been following you for a few years now, and now my husband is hooked. Keep doing what your doing, you are amazing.

What an update, things are pretty tied up just before the holidays, removing the electricity poles does make a huge influence on the sight of property. The grocery wreath turned out just amazing and sure showes how much you cherish those pretty chickens. Cute Benjamin is making the openinig of the video more enjoyably. Thank you Laura and Thank you Aaron for being the best supportive husband.

I wish I could take a photo of what Im looking at from my living room windows. I live in a city and the power pole is 15 feet from the front of my house- smack dab in the middle of a shared driveway with the triple decker next door. I know youd feel my pain. Its just hideous. The plus side, is I like watching the squirrels and birds walking or perching along the lines.

That looks so much better! For those of us who would like to do it too, would you please go through in detail about how you got the power company to do that? Did you have to argue to get it done? Or is that something commonly done there? Who at the power company did you talk too? An idea on the cost would help too. Any advice and guidance would be appreciated!

I have to admit when I heard Laura saying she was going to use a yellow ribbon instead of the red, I was like- no way! But it looked beautiful, popped all the colors from the wreath- never would of thought of doing it. Thanks. your place is gorgeous. May the Lord bless you in your dreams and journeys. you two deserve it. Benjamin is just a bundle of fun.
