Ahh the space is really shaping up! Its looking so beautiful- I knew it would eventually, but didnt expect it to look so good this quickly! Bummer about the spruce tree though I love your roll with punches outlook. I will miss seeing what you were going to do for the kids secret garden under its branches. Is there anywhere else that might work for the same thing?

You have given me so much information, Thankyou. I also live in a high wind area and it keeps blowing my mulch away. I have the shredded bark stuff. I bought it because I thought bark chips/chunks would definitely blow away. What can I do to keep my mulched areas from blowing away, until my plants grow enough to possibly protect them?

Love seeing the children at the end! Thanks for the tips on edging new flower beds. Once the edging is done it is so much easier to fill the bed with the right plants, at least for me it is. I can visualize things when there is a bit of structure already in the space, much less overwhelming.

Im fascinated watching you create these works of art! Its so motivating for me to get out into my 5 acre yard (horses get the other 30) and challenge myself! I am curious, with you massive winds, how you contain all these expanses of mulch? Mine blows all over the gravel driveway!

How on earth do you keep your mulch from blowing away? I lost the mulch I put on the west side of my house last fall to North Dakota wind! I only have a fraction of the edging and mulching that you have done Laura, so youve inspired me to tackle it this weekend!

As a designer can just say I would rethink the windows that will become your door access to your wrap-around porch be located a bit further from your front door because it may be confusing to your guests and honesty it will be competing with your front door.

Call me blind but isnt the other bricked pathway more gray than red? I think its because its closer to the house which is white that the red pops more. I ckd an older vid to see what the difference was. And of course the gravel is gray doh!

Do you have any experience with fairly light gas or battery powered edgers? I have chronic pain issues so a manual edger seems like the wrong tool for me. When my toddler gets a bit older I will definitely be putting him to work though

It looks like the edge of the flower bed is graded down. When you fill in with mulch, do you build the mulch up to the grass line? Does the grade need to be a specific distance from the grass to keep it out of the flower bed? Jessie
