New Annuals for 2021! #1
video description
I especially appreciated the video on pruning and fertilizing your Hydrangeas. I have an Incredibell and for the second time I'm going to prune it back to the ground. It's gotten way too big and has a lot of spindly branches. It was so uneven last year because all the stronger stems were on the right side of the shrub. The first time I did this it came back stronger than ever and I huge blooms. Some measuring twelve inches across. I did the same with my Limelight Hydrange, it was going no where I chopped it back as far back as I could. It came back like gang busters and is producing beautiful flowers. We also pruned back the maple tree so it could get more hours of sunlight. It really made a difference. I love coneflowers. You could say that I'm obsessed with them and hydrangeas. The only way I can grow them where I live in Missouri is to make a short fence out green coated chicken and surround the plants with it. Other wise those creatures will eat them down to the ground! I also have my tickseed in there to. We went find an old wire fence and cut off the top and make a border with it If I had excess to some willow I could come up with many designs. I'm going to research and see if anyone sells willow.
I admire you so much. Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl

We had a double white begonia on our front outdoor small covered porch. It lived almost in a shady corner of the overhang, although you can't really say corner either. The plant was huge, robust, and delicately lovely at the same time. It produced and produced, and produced. this was in the 1970's in SLO, CA 93401. SO it did need dead heading, But who minded. my kitchen was at the front of the house, so I'd just take a few steps out the door and sit on my little veranda with a cup of tea and my linx part bobcat. would climb on my lap when I was there just a few seconds to study my adult ed classes and he would droop both ends of him over each side of my lap. lovely times, lovely place

Congrats Laura & Aaron! She is beautiful!
Also excited for your upcoming greenhouse. That will be awesome to see come together. I know you are planning to redo that whole brick / tree area. And you mentioned getting rid of your tool shed. Just a thought, but why not possibly modify it and even move it elsewhere on your property so it can be converted to a playhouse for the kiddos? Kids love playhouses. Especially little girls lol. Little play kitchen set etc etc. Maybe where you can see them playing while you are busy working. Just a thought as it could be really cute with some modifications.

My favorite all time summer flower is any and all gerber daisies. (Full sun location.
Would you consider putting together a container with a mix to include this flower?
I would enjoy seeing your creativity applied to this fav of mine. Thanks for your consideration.
And congratulations on the new addition to your family. She is a cutie

Samantha is gorgeous! I inherited Mexican Heather when I bought my house three years ago. I wish I could say I was thrilled about that, but It is the most invasive plant I have ever had. It has been impossible to get rid of! The seeds fly and it reseeds all over. (If I could get hydrangeas to grow this prolifically, I would be the happiest gardener) BTW, I live in North Texas.

Oh my goodness those are beautiful, and I hope I can get ahold of some of them, thank you Laura and for sharing your precious little angel with us.
It's so funny though because I had the same experience with my two babies, my son born first was a handful and my daughter born second was (and still is) an absolute angel. Enjoy

So after going to the Proven Winners website at least 30 times since watching this video, I have a ton of plants I would like to order, however, Proven Winners charges a small fortune for shipping. I am signed up to receive their emails but never get any promo codes. Do you know if they ever offer promo codes?

A Jack Barnwell design of the new property is your answer, watched the island that he brought to life is amazing. The pondless waterfall how is it doing in those wind stormes that you have. Would like some footage of Benjamin's reaction to Samantha Grace when you brought her home from the hospital.

What Proven Winners annuals that were new to 2020 that you are definitely going to use in your garden/planters this year? You might have mentioned some of them in this video already but I would still love to know which ones were new to you last year that you ended up loving! :)
