Looking forward to more fruit tree videos. We planted 2 peach trees and am hoping to be able to grow them as organically as possible. Do you wrap the trunks to prevent sun scald? Ive read its recommended for the first season or so. I wrapped mine but discovered some pest or disease happening under the wrap that I wasnt aware of and have since removed it while I try to figure out how to treat it. Just wonder what your take is on that, as well as staking.

So exciting - cannot wait to see how the new property looks by the end of the summer. I am jealous of the easy digging in this video! I live in New England. So. Many. Rocks. I cannot dig a hole without digging out a pile of them (so many swears, I don't think an auger would work on my property. I have soil trucked in anytime I create new beds. Is your property fairly rock-free?

Oh, how thrilling. Truly. This was special to watch.
My question: Last frost dates. You of course have not yet pasted your last frost date. I've seen you plant or transplant some things well before that date. Would love to understand better what can be planted in winter or early spring (or late fall, for that matter) and probably be OK, and what cannot. Thanks!

So glad for an orchard for you, finally! Hope you acquire the neighbor's property soon, too! Consider establishing a strong root system will anchor tree and make for more drought tolerant sending roots deeper. Hope you stake both sides of your new trees. Our WA winds blew one of babies out of ground yr. 2 and they were much smaller. We did pick 1st yr. fruit.

Have been waiting for this video. Planted a lemon an orange and recently a pear tree in our small North Fla yard over the past few years. Praying we can keep them pruned. Looking forward to seeing your orchard mature. Yes to Aaron sitting beside you. Your both have great ideas. We hear your voice may as well join Laura! Blessings to your sweet family.

I seen Monty Don say to also pull the smallest flower from the bunch, said you'll get bigger fruit. Will you're high tunnel be over by the storage area, kinda looked like the word high in your drawing. I notice privacy fencing too at the neighbors, wondered if the builder did that? I'd get that gone so I could borrow your yard for my back garden view.

We're on year 4 with no fruit. (6 apple / 2 peach) Not sure if you have a deer problem like we do, but also the thin branches will need to be pruned down each fall to allow for thicker fruit bearing branches down the road. Also we've had to spray a ton of insecticide. Hoping for blooms this spring (southern NH. What are your maintenance plans?

You have complained about your soil in the past but it doesn't seem that bad. Any suggestions on how to cope with my soil? I live on an island so it's mostly clay and sand. Some places it is layered so perfectly that you would swear someone did it on purpose. Is there any hope or am I doomed to just bring in soil?

Laura - You look totally happy! Especially at the end. There is joy in that heart! Laura is planting and thinking about what the garden will look like in the future. Aaron is flying his drone and making fun fly-over-the-property-and-house videos. That is what is called a good day. =)
