Taking a Look at Your Greenhouses! Garden Answer Vicky: I have lived in my house with my nice size yard for almost 17 years. Last year I decided that the plants and flowers given by my neighbor should be cared for better. I had hoped to find windows on marketplace or craigslist or habitat restore but way more expensive considering my and husband's inexperience building stuff. Since Big Brother is watching and listening I started getting ads for flashsales of greenhouses and last month ordered a simple frame and plastics greenhouse from Amazon for less than $100. (Then of course even nicer ones had flash sales) But the one I have is so adorable. Big enough for me to walk into and stand with shelves for me to put the terra cotta pots I bought off marketplace. I was able to put together myself til it got to putting the plastic over it, my 6ft son had to help with that. It's in a really nice spot to get all the sun as it's setting. Husband is such a downers, said it going to blow away or won't last the winter. I am such a novice I have no idea what to start to plant. What to plant during the winter. What to put to keep over winter. I will be listening to you and harassing my neighbor in hopes that next spring I may have flowers and vegetables ready to go in the ground. If the greenhouse lasts maybe I will upgrade. All the ones you showed are so nice and maybe next year I will have something for you.

Loved seeing all the ideas here! I would love ideas of what to grow in a greenhouse, particularly with students. I have a 10 x 12 harbor freight like the one you showed in the video in a high school setting. Last year, we had very little success with what we grew. Inexperience hurt us. We are in Kansas Zone 6a. We had some tough cold temps and then we have ventilation and climate control issues. Would love help with these problems too. We'll try again during this school year, but would love ideas!

We just finished ours in Feb 2021, my one stop kit blew away a year ago (i cried. I would love to send you pictures of how ours turned out, I let him design it. It's a single angled tin roof, turned out really cool. It is def still a work in progress as I was very ready to get started, obviously, so we have to add a few modifications still but if you would like to see what we did, I can email to you?

Most of these were very expensive. For example, wrought iron frame one costs $21, 000. Please make part two with more budget-friendly ideas. Thank you!
For example, I have a 450 SF greenhouse made out of trash - old PVC pipes, old snow fence, and $25 plastic that I bought from Walmart. It would be interesting to see what ideas other people with low budgets came up with.

Laura, I know this is an older video but I have a suggestion for your hardware cloth that snags cloths. You can buy rubberized paint thats used to coat/dip tool handles, paint the edges after masking both sides for an even application and voila no more snags. You can also buy coated hardware cloth and then just touch up any cut edges, the green paint is easy to find.

Maybe make this a bi-monthly or monthly event you do. From what you have described, you potentially have enough submissions for several shows! Just a thought. I don't have a greenhouse as of yet, so I would love to get as many ideas as I can! I'm loving the greenhouses with the old windows! So lovely! BTW, I just became a new subbie!
