Planting a Hedge of Sprinter Boxwoods Garden Answer Linda: Thank you so much for this video! It just popped up on my recommendations and just yesterday I was measuring an area and wondering about putting in boxwood. The area is all under mature maple trees ( very very large. We live in my husbands family homestead) and I was wondering how they would survive under the huge trees. I was also wondering about putting drip tubing in my flower beds and VOILA! there you are telling me how to do it.

Hi Laura. Thinking of planting a hedge along the public sidewalk at the front of our yard, something in the order of 24 to 30 high, and perhaps 18 wide. We want a natural barrier to discourage dogs from coming onto our lawn. We were thinking a boxwood hedge, and then saw the hedge that you have running alongside your sidewalk close to your home. Hoping you'd be able to let me know what type of hedge that is. Thanks so much. Gordon

I just ordered 9 of these in 1 gallon size from a nursery in Georgia now sold out. I was having a hard time finding these in San Diego where I live. I was most interested in this variety because they seem to be ok with full shade which mine will get get in the winter months, but will also get full sun in the summer. I will do a review later for SoCal people who might be interested. Zone 10a here, lowest temp in past 5 yrs is 31: )

hello! Thank you for all your videos. I learn a lot from it. All your plants and trees and landscaping are gorgeous!
I think its in this video where one of your tree broke off a big branch. I noticed right away that the root flare is all covered. I have heard that we are not supposed to cover those root flare cause the roots need to breathe and if you cover them, it will cause a lot of problems.

I just came back from the nursery with my first plants ever! They are Sprinter Boxwoods! So glad you made this video. I'm putting them in planters but it was still great to hear all about this particular plant! So glad I didn't accidentally buy the cat pee ones! I think you are very pretty too. Great video, you got my sub: )

Looks just right for all the needs of this area. I was however sad that she didn't mention the planting depth and the need to keep the Boxwood at the same height that they were grown at; the depth of mulch (1-1-1/2 and not up the stem of the plant; and lastly, Black Mulch is dyed. better to use a natural dark brown color.

I'm sad to let you know that these smell like cat pee as well. I bought these hoping Laura was right, but sadly mine smell pretty bad. I got these from homedepot. com and they were shipped in Proven Winners containers, with their tags attached that said Sprinter Boxwood so I'm positive I got the correct boxwoods.

So your advice on planting boxwoods is to simply plant them? LoL. You lack knowledge. You didn't water the holes before planting, you didn't give the proper instruction to loosten the roots before dropping them in, etc. With a million viewers it's no wonder so many gardeneing projects are failing.

I bought 12 of these last fall and the first thing I noticed is they DID bronze up right away with cold temperatures. I was shocked because Laura said they dont bronze much. I am zone 7a. Of course I will still enjoy my bushes.

Laura, First of all I want to thank you and your husband for doing these videos. Secondly, I am trying to find the Sprinter Boxwood know one seems to have it in my area, Tigard, Oregon? Can you please tell me where you found it?
