Why not center the arbor behind the outdoor fireplace? So instead of seeing the back wall of the fireplace, it would be framed with the climbing roses. You could also place a bench at the back end of the arbor which would be a cozy spot to sit during the winter. Maybe after you cut back the rose bushes, you could cover the arbor with a fabric canopy for a winter time shelter.

That inground spigot is so cool! Why don't you have one of the new Eley quick connects on it? More importantly, how do you remember what you plant where. variety, etc? Do you have a master garden diagram or map designating what is planted where? I have a tiny garden and have trouble keeping track of plants; can't imagine trying to do so with all of your beds.

Benjamin is just the sweetest little charmer! I watched one of your videos earlier today filmed this time last year where he wanted to ring the door bell. What a huge difference in his size and maturity! Reminds me of my baby boy who is now 12 and still likes to help me in the garden! Thank you for all your heart warming and incredibly informative videos!

Hi guys! You didn't mention it and correct me if I am wrong but it appears you did make a well, however you also planted the tree bumped up a bit. I am not sure everyone could tell that from the way the shot looked and keeping the water away from the trunk still applies when making a dirt well. I was the official dirt well maker when I was a kid.

I love how organized you are. My screws would be in my pocket, in my hat, on the ground, etc i love how supportive Aaron and Benjamin are. You're doing a GOOD JOB, mommy! Love it!
I know showing the drip lines bugs you, but its very informative for those of us who have never laid drip line)

it snowed in new england today! nothing was bothered by it though, if anything we need precipitation. Have you planned out most/all of where the trees will be in the new area? or are you intentionally going to leave spaces if something like the pink dogwood occurs and you need space?

I noticed you dont use landscape fabric under your mulch. Ive tried that here in my many flower gardens and I end up with weeds popping through every time. Im now in a massive project this spring of doing just that again. How do you keep the weeds from coming through all your beds?

Benjamin is so lucky to be able to spend so much time outside working with momma and daddy - being conscious and intentional with his interaction with the Earth. It's wonderful that you will be sure he sees the fruits of the labor and can one day say I helped momma plant this tree.

Things happen the way they are supposed too. I bet once the Hartley was there you would have hated the arbor. I know you come up with a better solution. B giving such great positive reinforcement tells you he gets great positive reinforcement. Great job Momma (and Daddy)
