New Plant Load at the Garden Center! Garden Answer Hillary: Laura - Wow beautiful flowers. So I have always wondered about pansies. If you plant them (early) in a shady spot. will they survive all summer? (I live in MN zone 4. so I could plant when ground thaws which is usually sometime in late April. though our Avg. Last frost is May 15) will they bloom in a shady spot in the summer? I know they don't like full hot sun. I've just wondered as I try to get the biggest bang for my buck. and I want something to last all season? I have the same question with primroses. Thank you for the early dose of Spring!

Why do some primrose smell phenomenal, then others have pretty much no fragrance at all? Every spring I select my primroses mostly by fragrance, as we put them in a darling planter on our kitchen table. Also, would love a tour of the Oregon nursery who develops the Winter Jewels hellebores. Their book shows their gorgeous landscaped gardens to inspire you for your south garden spaces.

Question, When you say Hardy what exactly do you mean. Is that cold or heat? I get confused when reading the labels. I'm in zone 9A (Houston) and our problem is the heat and humidity. Sometimes we can get into the 30's for a short period in January and February and we hardly ever get snow, so how do I know that a particular plant in going to do do well in our area by looking at the label?

I work at a garden centre/nursery here in Southwestern Ontario, Canada and plunged right in the middle of winter right now, not receiving our first shipments of plants until mid March, early April. Your video makes me very excited that spring is just around the corner and looking forward as to what to come! Cheers!

I have read that Hellebores are very poisonous; to the touch, to animals, humans, etc. You handled them a lot in this video and I am wondering if you have ever had a reaction? I love them and would like to add some to my garden. Just wondering if I should be concerned or if the warnings are exaggerated?

Could you recommend what heaters to use in a greenhouse like this or in a pop-up greenhouse? All we could afford this year was a plastic one and I was nervous about putting a heater in it. I'll be looking up this greenhouse you got for when the other fails!

Omg this was soooo exciting to see all that fresh spring color. I have been dying for spring planting the past two years, but do to restrictions no one has had any plants in. I'm growing my own pansies but really want some primrose too this year!
