Beautiful Front Yard Gardens! Garden Answer Moonbeam: Water envy is righttho at least I love succulents. Bay Area California Zone 9b here. Our water district gives $1000 rebate to switch grass areas to dry-scape. Must have 50% drought tolerant plants. The other 50% can be rocks, walkways. Sprinklers must be replaced with drip. Definitely no grass paths! Also notethose tall evergreens are now illegal in some areas. for sure in San Rafael, CA. Theyre basically a tall flammable match. My friend had to remove all his. Will look if youve done a before after video on dryscape yards. If not it would be great! Most of my neighbors now have succulent and rock yards. I still want to combine dryscape with an area of shade tolerant like with hosta and ferns. Also hydrangea and azalea. I dont think theres even one house in my neighborhood that waters front lawn in summer. We who still have grass let it go brown all summer. Hello California!

Pretty sure you're favoring gardeners named Laura. Wonderful. My favorites were near the end, the Massachusetts garden, and the amazing English garden. I confess I was hoping mine would make it too (this video or Part 2, but I didn't really expect it to. It's a curbside garden, which is technically against town regulations in most places (tho I've never had any problems, and I only really had one good photo to send, plus, of course, what must have been many hundreds of submissions. I absolutely love this series, you guys, and I so hope you continue it indefinitely.

After 26 years of living in my then new home and landscaping it from the bare earth to a beautiful landscaped oasis we are selling and moving to Arkansas into another new house with bare dirt. 2 acres this time and Im excited to start over as well as sad to leave the property I put my heart and souls into for many years. I loved looking at these ideas and theyre all gorgeous. With all that being said I cant wait to do something totally different and will use some of your ideas to transform this place. Thank you for your videos, Laura

Beautiful yards and got some great ideas from them. Was hoping to see how peoples yards look at their sidewalk line as that is my struggle. Currently have ugly rocks that are a nightmare to keep clean, but I dont want to risk my yard over flowing onto the sidewalk and blocking public traffic. I am trying to reduce grass as I live in an area struggling with drought but I still want beauty and to feed the bees, butterflies, birds and other critters (minus aphids, spider mites and leaf miners, they can all starve )

I absolutely LOVE this series you've started. I was so happy with the Before and After video you did. knowing you'll be doing more just makes my day.
Thank you to you and your sweet family for the content you bring. In my videos I had to borrow your point. where you give the tour from your POV and just see your finger pointing things out. :) I love that. Hope it's ok that I took inspiration in my videos for that. :)

Question for Ashley from Greenwood Lake, New York whose home is featured at 15: 41 of this video. What paint color were used on your home? I have been looking for the right shade of grey/blue with white trim forever for my home and absolutely love your color combo! Much thanks in advance!

HI Laura & Aaron! For the next video (ponds/water features) I personally would LOVE to see what people who don't have a source of power in the garden have set up! I would love to add a water feature to my garden space but we rent the land and it doesn't have any power to it.

I loved this! I hope there will be more to come. I would be especially interested in front yards that have plants that hide the uglies. In my case, that would be a whole house generator and a propane tank. Thank you to all who shared and to you, Laura!
