I love using this technique! I wanted a nice sized collection of planters in front of my house, but struggled to find a nice looking style that I could afford multiple planters in. So I thought of doing this, and went down to Goodwill and bought a variety. Took them home, stripped and stained them, then hit them all with a spray paint sealer, and they've survived several years in the rainy Willamette valley. I've had a couple finally succumb to the elements, but then I just head back to a thrift shop and find and fix up a new one for cheap.

Ahhhhhhhhh. I love this so much. I have baskets. Several. I also have so many other projects going on. maintenance, weeding, cut backs, and one of those skinny side yard re-do projects complete with flag stone paver and new plantings. Living in Southern CA we really don't get that winter rest that creates the time to do these fun type projects. Nothing ever gets covered with snow and goes to sleep in my garden(s. In fact, everything is awake and crying for attention! What to do, what to do.

Love every video you do Laura, you are a beautiful ray of sunshine everyday. Please though, no green screen. Feels like every business video meeting weve been having over the last two years. We love your studio, your cats, your kids, your sweet mom and sister, your house, your greenhouse. All so natural, true and authentic Please always keep it true, its who you are. But a green screen, please avoid. Its cold out but its part of the process of preparing for spring.

I skipped ahead on the videos when I saw the fruit tree spray. I listened to most of this video while giving my peach and cherry trees a good spray of dormant oil. Will have to get the copper one in the future as I do have some sort of fungal issues that causes the fruit to rot on the tree too, but hoping this will help the oriental moth situation that has gotten really bad the last few years.

How warm was it at your house on this date? Outside without a coat? I want to go there! We are at 10 degrees F! One day last week or so, we went from 20 degrees to 50 degrees and back down two days later and have been really cold since, plus snow! The arrangement turned out beautifully and you are so inspiring as you go from one plant to another so easily. Thanks for sharing!

I saw some Irish moss. It looks cool, but likes shade. I love the tiny little white flowers. I couldn't find any of your videos on it, but I only went to the latest 50 uploads and gave up. Do you have any ideas on this, and what can be mixed with it? An indoor window next to a Beta fish bowl is what I'm thinking. Low light succulents do good there.

This might be my favorite container you've ever done! I also really love those containers from a few years ago where you put hellebores and pansies together with Angelina sedum, I think it was for some magazine? You should make a video of some of YOUR favorite videos/projects in the history of Garden Answer! Love all this spring color

Absolutely GORGEOUS! Food for the soul when our area (Zone 5 Ontario, Canada) is still covered with snow, and more coming this weekend. BUT. warming up after this coming blast so hopefully all the snow will be gone soon. Great tutorial on planting in a basket. I might have to try that this year. :) M

I have been finding it difficult to find lovely baskets for the past few years--that is, until I happened to be in a Goodwill! That seems to be where all the older, better-built baskets are! I love to share good resources. so if you leave a few for me, I'll definitely do the same for you! Happy hunting!
