Planting Spring Containers & Hellebores! Garden Answer Sue: Laura, I moved to Nampa from Salem Oregon in Sept. On 2 acres. One is husbands animal project. My flower beds have landscape fabric and rock all over the place. I hate it. The soil is full of white lime rock, I believe. I'm trying to pull out the landscape fabric. Lots of sun areas in back and west of house. Any thoughts on the soil? I loved the Willamette Valley, I had a green thumb there. Need to have different plants I'm sure. Do you have this problem with soil? What do I need to add? Nampa is 7a.

I'm sure you have a bunch of surprise bulbs that are growing in areas that you have changed the past few years, as we all completely forget about them during summer when they are not there. I know for me daffodils are especially resilience, like i think I have dug them all up yet more still come up the following year in the spot i tried to move them from, tuilps are the least tho but most pretty but they tend to rot overwinter plus we have sooo many squirrels

I planted bulbs for the first time this season, feeling confident thanks to your videos. I have a question regarding spacing. My bulbs (lilies, gladiolus, and fressia) came with instructions to space them about 6 inches apart. I notice you tend to plant them a lot closer together so I did the same. Are there any reasons why it wouldnt be a good idea to do that?

Love to see flowers coming in! Love the window box! I'm in Eagle, Idaho and it's going to be freezing this weekend and our irrigation water won't be turned on until sometime after April 15th. We have been told they will be turning the water off this year earlier than it is usually turned off. I sure hope it's not any soon then last year, the first of October!

Everything is so beautiful Laura. You inspire me every time. I have a question for you regarding little lime hydrangeas, I planted two in my garden last year, so in the fall I cut them down a little too much, do you think they are ok? would they come back this year? Thank you! Love your Chanel. Cheers from British Columbia, Canada.

You're giving me the planting fever! But I planted too early last year, in April, and then it came a hard freeze and a snow. I lost most of it even though I covered everything. So I'm trying to be patient this year. The advised freedom to plant day here in the North Carolina mountains is May 15.

Hi Laura
What do you do with your pansies and violas during the summertime? And do you reuse them the next year?
And have you cut back your Lavender? Cant remember you talking about them.
Thanks for all you do. Greetings from Germany (Black Forest.

Like so many others, you've become part of my morning coffee routine! Question: Do you ever get contact dermatitis from handling certain plants? I feel like if I so much as brush up against a hellebore my skin starts burning immediately!

I was looking through my cut flower book and fell in love with helebore, I'm not even sure if we have them where I live. I love the look of them. Thanks for showing them on the video! I will keep an eye out at my garden center
