I loved watching your video! Ive never heard of most of those varieties, but kennebecs are a staple in Australia. I noticed that you run your irrigation in one direction only. When I was doing that unit of my horticulture studies we were taught to set it up in a loop to halve the longest distance of tubing from the water source. It increases the pressure on most of the drippers too. Just add a tee piece after the faucet and join the end of the run back to the tee.

Im wondering if youd consider doing a video of your seed starting room and where you keep your seedlings assuming you have a dedicated area for that. Also where you keep your tools, equipment, store lawn & gardening stuff?
BTW- 940 lb. Potatoes? Just about right for me for the rest of my life! I think I made a mistake I have 50 -70 lb. of 15 varieties of seed taters for just my wife and I its my 1st year gardening and I am excited!

I am in the process of planning out my 5 acres where I live in the small town of Mariposa California and your videos are so helpful. I planted a small orchard with 17 trees and an enclosed flower garden. We do have a large deer population so I have to plan accordingly. I have to ask, why do you not wear garden gloves? It cracks me up to see you just dig a zillion holes with your bare hands, you are fearless!

Watching Laura plant a gazillion potatoes gives me hope that I can plant at least half that many
And I believe Laura every time she says she plants what she plants because her work ethic is so obvious with these videos. Thank you Laura for showing everyone what good work ethic looks like and giving inspiration to those who want to achieve such. You rock!

Hi Laura. Love seeing your Videos and excited to see tour gardens grow and develop. Makes me just want to help you in your garden and motivates me for my minigarden. Was wondering if you could tell us which of your varieties are starchy, waxy or all purpose? I dont have much space so looking for some that I can use for different cooking purposes. Thank you.

I learned to plant potatoes 29 years ago from my husband. I guess we have been lucky. We usually cut them down to one eye if possible (depends on spacing) and have had great luck with plants emerging. Maybe they would grow thicker with more eyes. I will have to try some like that. Kennebec are great potatoes for cooking. I love the Yukon for oven fries.

You had mentioned in your last video, when you cut the potatoes, that you like the huckleberry golds because the last so long in storage. You mentioned you still had some in storage. Just wondering if you use your potatoes from storage with eyes verses buying seed potatoes. Thanks for interesting and informative videos.

Thank you for taking us through planting potatoes! I have grown potatoes but I have never had good luck with fingerlings. I planted some today in a grow bag but I did not cut them or chit them. Have you grown fingerling potatoes before and did you cut them? Thanks so much!

Holy Potatoes, that's a lot of potatoes! Thanks for sharing your knowledge Laura. Purple potatoes a good source of beta-carotene but are an even richer source of anthocyanin pigments, which act as antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation and boost your immune system.
