Dahlia Inventory & Replacing a few North Pole Arborvitae! Garden Answer donna: Garden Answer is always the first video I look for in the morning. Yesterday I was walking through the sad looking veggies and annuals at a small Walmart. Then I spotted a couple of white pots! NO IT CAN'T BE. YES PROVEN WINNERS! Finally in my area. I was able to buy Supertunia Vista Silverberry and Fuchsia! Thanks to Garden Answer I knew to grab them. I can't tell you how excited I am to have them even if it is only for a few months. Ya'll Stay Safe and Have a Blessed Week.

WOW that is a great collection of tubers. I would love some Cafe Au Lait. I've been looking for that one and it is always sold out. : I started growing last year and your videos have been very helpful. However I am GREEN with envy. And when I see your green house it just gets me going big time. Thanks for the videos I totally enjoy them and my daughter is onboard with them as well.
You have her starting flower seeds indoors and loving the process.

wow what a lot of dahlias! love them! we lost most of ours this winter. I don't know why. we stored them in pine shavings in boxes. but we dug them up before a frost. it was late in October so we didn't have time to wait for frost. Could that be the reason they dried up? my cafe au lait was the favorite but It didn't grow well either for some reason. we had around 50. thanks for these videos, learn so much!

Hello. I live in zone 5, I would like to plant some low evergreen bushes in front of the house by the windows. The problem I have is there is too much shade there. I have 3 Hydrangeas now, but during winter, they basically go dormant and it looks like there is nothing in front of the house by the windows. What type of evergreen bush can I plant? Or are there better options? Thanks for your advise.

Good morning, Thank you for all the wonderful information you provide us each day. I live in zone 6 Southern Colorado. I planted 9 dahlias last year and did not dig them up at the end of the season. I tried to mulch them but we also get very strong winds and all the mulch blew away. To date 5 of the 9 have sprouted up thru the ground. I hope the remaining 4 will wake up soon.

Thank you so much for the tuber inventory show and tell. Super helpful and i can trust that it took a while, but is so helpful! And maybe for the people not managing 400 tubers it wont take quite so long to create and fill out with pictures and other details. Also love to see how you guys replace and even troubleshoot your arb hedge. They can be tricky.

Thank you for being such a bright spot in our lives! Your kind and upbeat personality is so refreshing in such a trying time. I was wondering if you have had to deal with bag worms in your arbs. We had to remove about 100 of them from our 3 arbs last summer. We have sprayed for them already and hope to have them under control this year.

Sharing your chart with us and how you did it was so helpful to me, thank you! I will be doing that with all the plants I start from now on. Also, I would be willing to buy your misc. Dahlia's and shipping if you can't find a home for them, just asking! Thank you for all the helpful info and the links to the North Pole Arbs.

If you are planning on not digging the tubers this year, what will you do if they do not make it through your winter? I live in North Florida zone 8B and mine never return even with a good layer of mulch. My area is a wetter climate so mine do succumb to rot. Interested in your test for next year!

Hi Laura and Aaron! That is a lot of tubers to keep and give away. It's too bad about the arbs. I just bought a pot with dahlias Costco. They weren't labeled as to what variety they are. I'm hoping they will last all summer, once I'm able to put them outside. Thank you so much for sharing!
