Planting a Gorgeous Full Sun Container Arrangement! Garden Answer Barbara: This garden space is so gorgeous! I live in zone 9a so I have to go with different plants sometimes.
The Supertunias are struggling in full sun even in May, not the hottest sun even. Their leaves get really tiny and turn a bright lime green.
The new Jazzberry Super Vista held up much better in that same location than my 3 Supertunia selections.
I disposed of the Supertunias and moved the Jazzberry Super Vista so it would get protection from our hot afternoon sun and its performing well.
Even though plant descriptions include zone 9 at the top level they may only make it if they have protection from our afternoon sun.
I salivate when I see the beautiful plants that thrive in your zone!

I just wanted to say that this is the first year I have gone all organic. This means no synthetic fertilizers at all, just compost and organic fertilizers. This is the first year I can grow petunias without bt spray and my dahlias and arborvitae are not being devoured by spider mites. I think just leaving everything natural, keeps the balance of beneficial insects to bad ones. The wasps are busy eating all the caterpillars and it's amazing not to have to spray anything. I did order a bunch of beneficial insects too. I added lacewings, spider mite destroyers, and cabbage worm predators. It was worth every penny.

Im a change it up gardener too, particularly with annuals. My mom was a always the same thing. In her front bed it was always alternating white and salmon geraniums, down the drive was always marigold, by the garage was always a mix of impatients. Im now living in the home I grew up in and have less annuals planted in beds and have converted many of her annual beds to perennials.

Laura, want to suggest a couple of small benches along this path and some walkway lighting. It's like you put on this beautiful dress but no earrings necklace or shoes. No what I mean. Some walkway light with shades hanging down reflecting light on walkway maybe antique brass. Just a few not overdone. You can get solar. Just a suggestion. What you have done in this area is beautiful!

Another great video. I love the combination of colors. Which fertilizer you use for your Annuals and for perennials? Also do you cut back your petunias form them to grow more blooms I have got very small petunia plants and its just has one trunk and is not very bushier and seems too leggy. How should we prune the annuals to make them fill the pot instead of being too droopy.

I know its not a problem you have, but how would you suggest weekly fertilizing when you live in an area where you get a ton of rain? Do you just sprinkle water soluble fertilizer on top of your container plants soil and let Mother Nature water it in or is there another type of fertilizer method you would recommend?

Love the Salvia as your centerpiece. just wondering about putting with SuperTunia's and Salvia together. Their water needs seem so different. Will that variety of Salvia be okay with same amount of water you need for SuperTunia's? Be interested in how that container performs.

Oh! Color block garden! I cant wait to see the purple, pink and white west side garden in full glory! What if you did more areas of picking certain color mixtures? You could even do a section with red in it to se if you would grow to appreciate it. Like a rainbow

Hey Laura! The cottage garden beside your chicken coup is my favorite. I was wondering if you could give us a tour through there now that so much has changed there. Did u have to take most of it out or were u able to leave it? This area of course is BEAUTIFUL as well

Beautiful! I am always amazed how beautiful all your arrangements look. Could you please let me know what you feed the plants with - you mentioned you try to do it weekly. I want to start doing the same and want to make sure I am using the right product. Thank you!
