Trimming Boxwoods + Planting a Kitchen Window Box & Chicken Coop Flower Bed! Garden Answer tcagle24: LAURA! I wanted to tell you my poppies are coming up. In JUNE! Im just a little ways up in Spokane and with all the moisture weve had, Im pretty sure theyre popping! Funny. I gave up on them and bought more Laurens grape and started inside, no grow lights though or air movement so they are super leggy. So anyway I went to plant them and bury up the leggy-ness and realized some of the originals are coming up! Check on yours they may have come up after all! I have watched your spring tour video at least 5x. I cant possibly be the only one who has missed these. I know you may feel a little more critical of your garden, but really, for all of us, its maybe our only 20 minute getaway we have when we get home from work! I feel like you are such a vital part of my joy these days and I hope my daughter (3yo) recognizes you by name as you are most certainly family! Thank you for all you do!

Your hard work is really paying off this year as the garden matures, and you are reigning in your impulse to have too many varieties. I think sweeps of colour look great, and more naturalistic. Whie you will never sell me on coleus, I love pansies and violas as they last so long, can take a bit shade, and the simplicity combined with the bright and big range of colours is lovely. The ones I bought last September have lasted here until now and are still blooming well in full sun for 4 hours or so, and this is meditteranean Zone 8 a. We had a dry winter but are now getting a lot of rain this week, which is a bonus as I don't need to water!

After planting dozens of boxwoods, Laura found she had a hedgemony in the shrubbery arena. ; ) Laura, your background music is pleasant and soothing, but I encourage you to post a video with classical music for a change. I don't think it will scare away your devoted fans. Thanks to you and Aaron for all your hard work and the beauty you create and share with us!

Need Help! Boxwood question. I planted three one gallon boxwoods in a part to full sun border about 8 weeks ago (central Texas zone 9. Temps were mild and immediately one started to burn on one full side. Water has been consistent and soil not allowed to dry up. What do I do to keep this one from continuing to burn as temps are now rising and can that burned part be revived?

it's amazing to see the changes you've made at your place. Good example was your latest vid of the chicken coop. Nothing much was there not long ago.
Always enjoy your videos and appreciated how you tightened up some of the video production. Still don't know the name of your little ranch there?

Your boxwoods look so great - the trim just made them perfect. I've struggled with a first time HUGE infestation of spider-mites in my yard this year (queue atom bomb image, and heard that a sulphur ingredient can assist in their demise. Have you heard of this? Thanks for all you do - you make our lives beautiful.

How did you treat for spider mites? I have an earwig infestation in all my roses. I cant even bring the cut roses in because they went all over my house even though I put the roses in buckets of water to flush them outsome of them still hid and came out at night! What can I do? HELP,

Can Green Mountain boxwoods and Northstar boxwoods be planted in an all day sun (in the summer) spot in the garden? I live in an area super similar to yours and wanted another option besides Sprinter that can take that much sun.

Would you be able to put a shade cloth on them once they are trimmed? To me this seems like maybe something to protect them right after the cut. it may not be feasible for you with how many you have but just a thought: )

just remembered how when i started watching, the west side garden was a grassy side with a plain fence and two willows, and just fields beyond. it's amazing how majestic this garden has become over the years
