Creating a dried flower wreath can be a delightful and creative project, allowing you to preserve the beauty of flowers for an extended period. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to harvest flowers and make them into a dried flower wreath: Materials You'll Need Fresh flowers: Choose a variety of flowers with different shapes, sizes, and colors for a visually appealing wreath. Pruning shears or scissors: These will help you cut the flowers neatly. Wreath base: You can use a pre-made wreath base made of grapevine, wire, or foam, or create your own using flexible branches. Floral wire or twine: This is for attaching the dried flowers to the wreath base. Ribbon or decorative elements (optional): You can add ribbons, bows, or other embellishments to your wreath. Steps Select and Harvest Your Flowers: Choose flowers that are in their prime but not overripe. Harvest flowers early in the morning when they're well-hydrated. Use clean pruning shears or scissors to make clean cuts, avoiding crushing the stems. Bundle and Hang the Flowers: Group your flowers into small bunches (3-5 stems per bunch). Secure each bundle with twine or a rubber band. Hang the bundles upside down in a dry, dark, and well-ventilated area. This allows the flowers to dry slowly and maintain their color. Wait for Drying Depending on the flowers' size and moisture content, it may take 1-3 weeks for them to dry completely. Be patient. Prepare the Wreath Base: If you're using a pre-made wreath base, you can skip this step. If making your own base, shape it into a circular or desired wreath shape. Secure the ends with wire or twine to maintain the shape. Attach the Dried Flowers: Once your flowers are fully dried, carefully remove them from the hanging bundles. Use floral wire or twine to attach the dried flowers to the wreath base. Start with the larger flowers as focal points and fill in with smaller ones. Secure the stems to the base, ensuring the flowers face outward. Add Decorative Elements (Optional): If you'd like to add ribbons, bows, or other decorations, do so after attaching the dried flowers. Use floral wire to secure these elements. Hang Your Dried Flower Wreath: Once your wreath is complete, find a suitable place to display it. Indoors is best to preserve the dried flowers longer. Maintenance: Dried flowers can be fragile, so handle your wreath with care. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can cause the colors to fade over time. Creating a dried flower wreath can be a rewarding craft project, and it allows you to enjoy the beauty of flowers throughout the year. You can get creative with different flower combinations and wreath styles to match your décor or personal taste

Laura, it s a beautiful wreath. I love the straw flowers and so many that you used. The red one looks like strawberries. Not sure if you noticed that. Would love to see what it looks like when the flowers have dried some. Could you show that later in the season? And is this a wreath that would keep and store?

I love the dried wreath and have just started working with dried flowers from my own gardens. I've made wreaths in the past from our blackberry vines but never with dried flowers. Could you use a natural wreath form like that with the dried flowers as well or is there a reason not to?
