I'm reblooming amaryllis bulbs by bringing them out of dormancy and encouraging them to rebloom for Christmas! Thanks so much to Plow and Hearth for these wonderful fireplace accessories and amaryllis bulbs kits! Jess: I watched your amaryllis video last year, really wanted to get them i got super excited looking for them, but finally this year I got my hands on some: ) I literally just finished potting them up! I did get paper whites, so well see how that goes! also got an apple blossom and a vera (i like pink)

Thank you Danielle, people collect all sorts of things, you happen to collect amaryllis, it s the gift that keeps on giving, unless of course you accidentally kill it. Heck one year mine bloomed without any treatment at all, it was sitting in a place that I don t pay much attention to and there she was in all her glory, I hadn t even watered it. It was a miracle in my eyes.

I am soo glad to see this vid. I'd rewatch your vids from last year and wondered what you'd but out this year. I'm potting my amaryllis today as the bulbs arrived earlier this week.

I don't have very good light inside. Do You think they will bloom if I keep them in dark places like tables or coffee table. not dark but not on the window?

Hi. I'm in Palm Beach Fl and have many ( 25 +) amaryllis growing in pots and the ground (year round). (No knowledge of country of origin) Im trying to force my larger bulbs for Christmas. I've removed abut 1 doz larger bulbs that flowered last year in Feb - April after forcing dormancy in refrige in Sept. Today, (Aug 12th) I removed bulbs from pots, removed soil and left in sun to dry. MY plan is to let dry for about 2 + weeks on patio in shade (although it is 90 degrees), then cut off tops around Sept 1st, and keep dormant inside (about 80 degrees, 75 at night) for about 2 months, and repot in first week of November to force blooms in Dec. Last year I found that they took about 8 weeks for most flower stalks to start. I still have about 25 smaller offsets planted last December growing in large long window box flower containers in partial sun garden. Questions: I can refrigerate de-potted bulbs in wine cooler ( 50 degrees) during Sept. Recommended? and necessary? Not going to propagate other bulbs but continue to grow and feed. They will usually drop leaves in Feb and rebloom in April and May. Should I put flower box bulbs ( 20 cm) into dormancey or just let them grow and replant next weason when they shouldbe about 30 cm? BTW, Love your videos! Thanks, Mitch Levison, Palm Beach Gardens, Fl Mitchlevison@comcast.net
