Instant formal garden! Planting a Boxwood Hedge, Laying A Brick Runner, & Landscape Lighting

Today we're creating an instant formal garden in my front yard garden. A few weeks ago, we removed the overgrown shrubs from the front yard and planted a hydrangea hedge. Today, we're planting an instant hedge of green mountain boxwoods to line the garden beds and sidewalk. I'm also laying a brick runner and installing solar lighting to give the house a more welcoming appearance.

Love it! After doing some architecture research and visiting Colonial Williamsburg. I learned that our 1970s split foyer is loosely based on Colonial architecture. So were doing something similar in front of our house with Little Lime hydrangeas and ilex glabra. At 59 I have to choose my battles as I have more high maintenance gardening in the backyard. Your kitty seemed to like it too!

Girl you have kicked b. t up front! I said it after part one and I'll say it again. you just upped your curb appeal by a 100 percent. You've completed some pretty cool projects lately with the flagstone patio, stone rug, decorative fencing by the street, upgrading the front, lighting, etc. and it shows, your place looks great!

Looks amazing! I have two questions. If my current boxwood hedge is suffering from spider mites, would be it ok to remove and replace with something like these in the same area, or is that not a good idea? Do you mind sharing how much the instant hedge cost you?

Wow! I m not usually impressed by boxwood hedges or formal gardens but this really enhances the front of your house! How cool to see those boxwoods already in a hedge form that creates an instant frame for the hydrangeas! And the lighting is lovely! Great job

WOW! This is stunning and such a satisfying transformation. I am such a fan of hedging to add structure and formality. I plan to add quite a lot in our home in SC, because things can get a bit WILD looking very fast. the structure is really needed!

It looks beautiful! I am a little concerned that green mountain, at 5 x3 might overgrow the space. Does that concern you? I have never grown it, so maybe it s very easy to keep smaller? In any case, it truly is beautiful and already looks finished.

Great job! As always! Just noticed the light post and wondered if a faux gas lantern flickering bulb in there would add to your wonderful ambiance. I am looking for them myself and wondered if any of your viewers have them.

0: 57 when you put them as nice, but where they were at this particular time, and the video looks really amazing as well! It looks like the hydrangeas are peeking out even more dimensions

It looks beautiful. I m in a corner lot and not allowed to put up a fence facing a semi main road. You ve inspired me to consider a hedge. Also, looking up Growing Floret immediately
