Wanted to say I always appreciate the Proenekke shots! Any random piece of beauty moving in the wind or being rained on etc. Really appreciate that you do that. Paying homage to a forerunner. All work and no play makes Mr James a boring boy especially when theres a female involved. Lol. You speak as though your wife is around the cabin alot but almost never see her. Doesn't want to be in the videos? I'm sure many of us would love see her introduced on a video sometime. Just to put a face to Mrs James. Let's face it finding a woman or any partner that is in it for the long haul through all of life's ups and downs is a special person. Makes life complete in so many ways. Anyway thanks for vids. Has become a great enjoyment of mine watching them. And have incorporated your steady work ethic back into my life. Steady rather than seemingly always rushing.

You know, you could build another very small cabin that is big enough for just a bed and a port-a-potty, and host guests! Like a rustic outdoor Bed & Breakfast. People would go nuts over this kinda thing. Getting back to nature. falling asleep to a crackling fire & the night crickets, waking up to breakfast cooking on the campfire. its like a retreat from chaotic city life.

It looks like this oven will work well for 10-15 years, then the built in job security will kick in. Those pieces of wood will rot out and the whole thing will need to be rebuilt. Sorry Shawn, I built things like that before and lived to regret it. The old timers knew to use things like stone if it was going to last 100+ years.

It takes a lot of courage, dedication and will power to work like this, alone in the wilderness, no one to talk to, no one to get help from. more importantly knowing it's not productive. in terms of finance. Hats off sir, you are truly a living legend and inspiration for many of us.

Here's my input - I LOVE watching you as you share your life. The photography is beautiful. I love how you frame things out, like the shot through the frame of the outdoor kitchen, while you were working in the distance. You have a lot of talent. Thank you.

it may sound strange but I'm so glad to see a chainsaw show up in a couple of the kitchen build videos. so much progress and i'm sure it helps reduce the strain on your arms. take care of yourself.

New to your posts, the area reminds me of my trips to The Boundary Waters. By chance are near that area? My two trips, one 7 days and one 10 days were fabulous. Loved the singing Loons at dusk.

Husqvarna--my kinda chain saw. I've 2 of them. I like how you made that rocket stove in the barbeque. Putting the 4 bolts into it to lift it off the top was ingenious.
