This week, my sister and niece and their golden retriever, Charlie, join us at the log cabin. The two dogs tire themselves out playing in forest during the dog days of summer, while moose feed in the marsh, bears eat my blueberries and raspberries and toads eat bugs. I start piling decaying logs into a hugelkultur mound in preparation for planting garlic this fall for harvest next summer. I set up my Goal Zero solar panels to charge the GZ Yeti power bank and I collect more water from the roof in the wine barrel

Thanks for watching this short mid-week video. In this video, I show some of the other things I do during the week, like filming wildlife, picking berries, canoeing and fishing, building a hugelkultur bed for planting garlic this fall, checking trail cameras and hosting my sister, her daughter and their golden retriever, Charlie. My Friday video will be live at the usual time tomorrow morning. In it, I work on the roof of the cooking pavilion, finish excavating the sand form from the earthen oven and put a wall on the gable end of the oven shelter to stop wind driven rain and snow from getting in.

Bumped across one of your videos. Very enjoyable to watch as you share your experience generously and your demeanor is friendly and modest. So is Cali. Your videos are just awesome. Though not from that part of the world; getting to know and learn from your video is very interesting and captivating. I love dogs. Cali is very sweet and adorable. She may be playing. She is observing to protect her family too. Hi Cali: big hugs! Please keep your video streaming in.

check your info for planting garlic, plant as late as you can, in wpg I planted early november this yr and you do not harvest till fall, always keep a few bulb's to replant in the upcoming fall and u will be rewarded with bigger bulb's next yr, takes patience but I do not see that a problem for you

Oh I love love love the shutters and your wood pile house cover thingy. Wish my man would show interest in wood instead of motors. What talent. I watch these videos after a day in Customer Service to wind down. TY Shawn. Your wife is very gracious to support this lifestyle your making.

They are so ugly they are beautiful. The Moose. Not crazy about snakes though. So Cali doesn't like Charlie? Not sure I don't agree with her. Cali is a camera hog. She loves to act more crazy.

Toads came in masses at mid august, and when they are gone then the summer is over. Your nature looks just like here in Finland, also similar weather system.
