Preparing to be ALONE (part 1 of 14) - Trip Preface and Mission Statement

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
I filmed this LAST FALL (2015) in effort to test my reaction to social isolation as per the show on History Channel ALONE in combination with a long-time goal I have had to discover a hidden undiscovered lake in Northern Ontario. In this first video, I simply narrate my goals for the trip and outline what I intend to do and my thought process. I have learned a lot about what it means to be in a foreign, remote environment in the process. I learned what it means to be ALONE and what social isolation brings emotionally in a long-term setting

have you prepared and eaten (under Alone conditions) any pine cambium? cause that's going to have to be at least 1/3rd of your diet on the show. Have you experimented as to what baits will bring fowl onto shore? have you read Ragnar Benson's books on survival poaching and trapping? How about larry Dean Olsen's book? Brad Angier?
Korchanski? Try a low net (or a lenghwise folded wider one) in the V I spoke of, baited at the apex. you'll see! While bigger fish are in deep water, they cost a lot to access.

U am a diehard brookie fisherman I grew up fishin for them square tales. Also its one of my favorite fresh water fish to eat. Roll in a lil seasoned flour and fry in butter or bear fat man oh man wish I was eating one right now. Keep up the awesome adventures and come to New Hampshire and do some brookie and rainbow fishing. We also have some killer brown trout fishing too.

You are right. Very few people would do what you are so excited about. Most do not understand it at all. Understanding this took me awhile. It is a personal thing that not many get. When you do find somebody who is genuine in their excitement it will be a special relationship.

There might have been other's before you that discovered it as well but also didn't mention it to anyone, and or leave any signs of having been there. This will be a good 14 part series to watch right now. Wow what was that loud boom the last 2 seconds of the film?

You should check out our hometown Fenwick boy Adam Shoalts. He is employed by the geographical society and does this kind of stuff five months at a time. He's probably one of the top solo explorers on the planet.
