Having the same experience with trapping squirrels. When I get the chew outs I know I'm getting closer. I feel like a tailor trying to guess the squirrels neck size. The only way to avoid a chew out that I know of. I saw one hanging from the window but my wife distracted me too long and he chewed out. I put out a wall of snares so it has to go through one of them to improve my chances.

on the dog thing. a friend of my family was in the korean war(i believe. he had a pet dog nthe time he was there. he gave the dog to the family of someone he was friendly with. that persons family had him over for a farewell meal his last day. after eating his meal and talking awhile he asked where his dog was so he could say goodbye one last time. the meal he just ate was his dog.

If they dont already, restaurants should start serving predator meat. I'm sure if prepared right, a ground coyote tastes every bit as good as any hamburger at a fast food place. Could save money too. I guess in the early years, colonists used to eat anything they could trap, including wolves and coyotes. It's odd that it's frowned upon now.

Obviously a shovel is very beneficial, as is a saw or axe, that's just common sense. Guess you could risk frost bite and use your hands but our Father did give us a brain so why not use it. A piece of plastic would be nice as well, another no brainer!

Awesome frying pan! Of course just like every other creature, God gave us all we need to survive. It only took a 100 years or so for us to forget. Now it scares and fascinates most of us. Interesting. Thank you.

Best meat i ever had was Backstrap of beaver. It was friggin amazing. I also use cast iron all the time, even in house. Just got to learn that it holds heat longer then anything else. And don't cook on high.
