In this episode, Josh goes land-based shark fishing for giant blacktip sharks with Kyle the Fish Whisperer. Josh almost got spooled by what he thinks was quite possibly one of the largest blacktip sharks he has ever hooked The conditions were very tough with strong NE winds and massive waves.

Josh, I have a shark rod with 50lb braid and a BlacktipH shark rig. I have a PENN spin fisher V with 30lb braid and a 20lb mono leader. Is it strong enough for cobia, Jack crevall, bonito and similar fish? Also the Spinfisher V is on a 6'6 MH

As he is releasing the shark and is dragging the shark backwards on the bottom with the surf stirring up the sand, Doesnt the sand get into the sharks gills? Is it bad for the sharks health? Nice catch though with the sharks and jacks Great video

Just a pointer, it isn't another shark. It would be a much cleaner cut. Similar to a knife. It comes from the chafing. You lose a lot of bigger sharks to their rough skin on their tails chafing the line. Use longer wire leaders to prevent this.

You sure that isn't a Spinner shark? They're stockier at the same length than a regular Blacktip, and grow longer, and have not been considered a subspecies for quite a while. (Though they of course both have black tips, and both spin when they jump)
