I joined Capt. Ryan from Tell N' Tails Charters and Dennis Verreet in Miami to catch a monster tarpon during the annual shrimp hatch On the first day, both Dennis and I hooked a tarpon, but both fish managed to escape. After several days of bad weather, we managed to get back on the water for another attempt at landing a monster tarpon. The day started off slow. At around midnight, Dennis hooked an absolute monster tarpon and the battle was on

Mr josh should I say I was down in fort Myers and we were fishing on a pier in Cape Coral and I a piece of mullet skin on a mako rod from Walmart and after 20 minutes I turned away to look at a ted that came from under the pier then next thing I know my reel is screaming and I didnt know that I had a tarpon on till it was close to the pier than I fought it until I got to shore then my step dad handed me the rod and the reel then as soon as I got it ran under the pier and cut me of on the pilings and it was also like 130 pound fish

Get you some Owner Muta Light circles and lose those hooks that you're using. You'll thank me. Mustad style circle hooks are garbo. The round profile is terrible for Tarpon. Owner circles have a groove in the bend that locks the hook in place. Instead of that continuous circle that begs to be pulled loose.

I am pretty new to shark fishing. I have caught a handful in the 6 range. I have been fishing 65lb braid directly to a 3-4 wire leader. Is that an issue? Would a section of mono and a shorter wire leader be an advantag? If so why? Just trying to learn. Any information would be greatly appreciated Love your videos

hello i'm a fan of you from Malaysia. We also have Tarpon fish in Malaysia but there is nothing as big as in Miami. In Malaysia we call this fish with the name of ikan bulan moon fish.

you should use Sony DSLR for your night shoots then you can bump up the ISO to 10000 or 20000 and use a very small light in your camera then we can see the environment much better: )
