I know my comment is a little late but I have recently been checking out videos on cast nets. 2 years ago I hurt my back and could barely walk. I couldn't turn my body to throw my cast net. My back is still a little stiff in the mornings these days but nowhere near as bad. I ended up trying to find a net with less movement required to throw and I ran across the fitec ez throw cast nets. They can be thrown with 1 hand and open up every time. The reason I mention these nets is that even though I can throw my old cast nets again, I still take the ez throw with me on the boat. They are great for throwing from the boat because of the fact you only need 1 hand to throw.

Excellent walk through tutorial! Safety tip of the day: Don't make a slip knot or essentially a noose for your hand line. This is important if you're throwing off a boat with motors. I thought it was in neutral could end badly for an errant net line.

How does that cast net work as the net lands over the shoal like an umbrella so how do they end up inside the net were in the uk and not used so alien to us please explain as to why the fish dont go deeper from the umbrella?
