Wow that's so cool that you guys replied to my comment my lawyer tells me I will have my settlement this week and as soon as I get it I'm buying a truck and I'm coming to Leesburg Florida to visit my mom for a couple days and then I'm going to spend a little money and try to Charter a fishing trip hopefully I can do it when y'all are available I would love to meet you both and do some fishing my shoulders aren't going to let me swing a hammer for a living anymore but I sure can catch a fish believe that it's great to see two people living life the way it's meant to be lived you're both shining the examples of goodness in this world I'm sure you inspire lots of people including me it's been pretty rough since Easter morning when I wrecked my truck actually since I was rear-ended on the interstate because of someone else's accident anyway I've had to recover caring for my ailing father at his home and he doesn't have a TV in the room I've been staying in so you are all YouTube videos been a real treat

No Darcy, your not alone. I am also from Miami and remember going there and swimming Homosassa many years ago. and I agree it is waaaaay too cold! I didn't know anything about the water except everyone saying 'oh it's beautiful' and 'it's so clean and clear', etc. Well I was so excited that a soon as we got there I ran across parking lot and jumped right in! Geeeeeez what a shock to the body! I had only been paddling around for a few strokes and realized i definitely needed to turn around, and get out, because my body started to feel numb and it was hard to move! I could feel arms and legs getting numb and almost didn't make it back to shore. Next time I will stick to fishing from inside the boat.

There are wild Monkeys by the hundreds on Silver River which connects up to Silver Springs. The Monkeys are the from ancestor monkeys that escaped while filming Tarzan series in the 50s with Johnny Weissmuller. There is a State Park on State Road 40 East of Ocala. You can launch your boats or canoes or Kayaks and paddle up the river. Crystal Clear water very deep and while monkey families on the shore lines watching the humans go by. You don't want to go too close to shore because they will jump in your boat searching for food and whatever they can steal. Check out it is a real treat to watch.

The monkeys did come from a nearby wildlife park. They became a problem when they kept jumping from the trees along the boat rout to the main park into the boats and scaring the passengers. The monkeys were rounded up and placed on what we know as monkey island. The monkey problem took place back in the 1970s before the park was taken over by the state. I remember witnessing these events as a child when we would go to the park and take the boat back to the main park. Hope this clears things up a bit.

You should have stayed for feeding time. A guy packing a back pack with a super soaker brings food twice a day. They hate water so the man who brings has to be ready. Also if you bring your boat to close they will try to jump on. Also there is a hippo in homosassa. In the wildlife preserve. And joque quisto. Not sure how to pronounce his name. thought the springs in homosassa were literally the fountain of youth.

My father traded a friend for a pet monkey back in the 50's, it was bad enough when a car pulled up next to him and told him, hey buddy, your monkey has been trowing your tools out of the back of your truck for the last few miles, but he said the final straw was when he learned the monkey had a habit of climbing the curtains and crapping on the ceiling. :) Dad's friend wouldn't take him back.

A cute video. You guys are entertaining with or without fish or monkies. I enjoyed it a lot. I kind of get annoyed that Darci has to work herself so hard catching those fish and doing dangerous things. Fishing is hard work. Even when your young. Thanks for all that you do. OMG, my wife and I were married in Key West, our honeymoon was spent at the resort next to Monkey Island, the one with Monkey bar, neighbors told us about The Freezer best boiled shrimp I have ever had. We were in November for the Manatees, I agree, the water was too cold, wife loved it!

I live in Homosassa FL it's gorgeous up here I'm at the springs almost every weekend during the summer also house some of the best trout fishing inshore and some grouper fishing within 20 miles or less off shore lmk when y'all back up this way we can go get some fishing done
