Darci your a great angler for sure and beautiful inside & out w/ intellect. after a couple videos. I was hooked on your personality and spirit. So uplifting. You have it all going for you, Health is wealth. It brings added joy to my day as my fishing days have stopped since a car accident that left me disabled. you gave me some hope watching your father use the bean bag in the boat. so since that episode, I have some hope of making a fishing trip one day when I get stronger using that method. THANKS. sucks about some super crazy rude comments. Just YouTube haters. its just as much as respecting your husband as it is about respecting you. people have no boundaries these days

I havent caught a Gar yet but can see them in the (E3) canal. When hurricane Irma was coming, the Lake Worth Drainage District (LWDD) opened the gates of the canals letting the water (and some fish) out of the canals and lakes, into the Intercoasal Waterway's brackish water to make room for the rain water. Gar are very hardy fish, surviving since prehistoric times. There were probably a lot of freshwater fish dumped into the Intercoastal when the gates were opened, that Gar survived. A lot of other freshwater fish probably didn't survive. I wouldn't be surprised to see other freshwater fish caught in the Intercoastal.
Your videos are great, keep up the good work.

many years ago a friend and I were fishing in Offatts Bayou Galveston Tx soon after a hurricane both of us caught a 5ft almost 6 ft alligator gar each on finger mullet. We were battling them the whole morning we were going for specks or reds so our lines were only 15 or maybe 17 # took almost an hr to raise them just to know what we hooked both hooked in the soft tissue at the jaw hinge on a small ss treble hook. Crazy they growl and snap not easy to land. they got displaced from the storm

Darcizzle gar are found all around spillways because they fall from the freshwater to the saltwater side they are not rare people snag them and catch them all the time due to the insane amount of water being discharged
