TOUGH DAY: We Had to Put Our Pet Dog to Sleep, Very SAD!

just lost my dog last week, a Labrador 13 yrs old with DM a disease of the spine that destroys and paralyses there back legs and then start on the front. Her name was Abby and I was a Police Officer and she was my wife and my life. When taker her in the dog put a blanket down and both me and my wife got down laid next to her while the Doctor gave her a sedative and then a large dose that I guess goes directly to the brain and it shuts down her system. It was terrible, I took it worse than my wife and cried like a baby in full uniform as we loss the best friend and loyal companion. I am still not over it and I want to say our heart goes out too you as even being a Police and seeing terrible things, but this was one of the toughest thing I had to do. So for rattling on and now there is a big void of Abby being gone. Please take care and you are in our prayers.

Sad for you my best friend Toby is about 15. Not 100% sure of his age. He was a rescue and when I took him to vet first time the vet guessed him around 1 and that was 14 years ago. He has some health issues and its getting harder and harder for him to climb the porch steps. His favorite thing in the world is to go for rides in the truck. Ive had to pick him up and put him in for awhile now. He also has these benign growths on him. Vet says its common in older labs and doesnt suggest surgery

I know this video is over a year old but I just want to say I know exactly how you feel and can tell you loved her very much. A couple of months ago we had to put our Mastiff X staffy to sleep because his kidneys started bleeding because they didn't know what was causing it and they couldn't stop it and last night we had to put our Staffy X lab to sleep due to cancer. I miss them both so much.

hi guys i loved sadie and i know this is kind of late byt i had a dog named smokie and he was my bestfriend and one day he was acting funny and it started raining and we put a ttarp over him to keep him warm then it started pouring so we raped him up and brung him inside and the next morning he died i cryed for almost 2 days it was very hard and i love you guys

I am so sorry for you and Sadie. thank you so much for posting this. I am facing this issue, my poor Lulu has been struggling with a trigeminal nerve sheath tumour for 3 years now, and we have finally run out of options. I am really struggling with making the decision. Your video really helped me to move on.

Oh man, that is so hard. Have had to do it twice & the emotion is real. It comes down to the pets quality of life, & hard as it is an owner has to think of their pet in those situations. Thx for sharing this & fwiw I think you guys have the right perspective on the experience. Take care & tight lines!

Had to put one of my dogs to sleep. On the way there he stopped breathing and I panicked and shook him awake. Why? I don't know. He would be gone within 15 minutes. A year later I had to put my other dog to sleep. They were the best of friends. I haven't had a dog since. It just hurt to much.

Its always a difficult decision but better to make them comfortable then you satisfied to still have them. Sorry for the loss, I just lost my partner after 16. 5 years great hunting partner and loved swimming. We had to let her go

over the years i have had to put down 3 of my hunting dogs. it is never easy i cried worse for the dogs than when my dad died. The joys and heartbreak owning a dog. my heart goes out to guys
