Fair point, but filming was during darkness and so might have passed the midnight threshold of 3rd Jan. My main point; you seem to have a number of -followers- and so although fishing is permitted, it is limited within your local area and only during the daytime. If you are an influence on your followers fishing, it would be most important to emphasise compliant lockdown behaviour. Why not make the point that the film was shot before lockdown on this public platform?
Several fines in my area for dopey beach anglers continuing after dark. I have also seen beach angling videos from the March lockdown that were clearly breaches and I'm sure you would agree, was irresponsible.

I hate bait casting reels, all the hookups, nesting as you call it. When I was a kid, 65 years ago my father could only afford them, and we learned to hate casting. when the spincast reel was invented, no more stress. I don't understand why this kind of reel is not used more. Maybe it is for pantywaistes, and fishermen are too proud to use them. Also, it is good to see how you use that elastic string to circle bait to last longer. good tip. ciao from the adriatic sea. shore.

thanks john for fulfilling your promise to do a night beach video that you said you would do a few months back in the summer. nice one. love beach fishing up here on the east coast. mappleton was always my fav place, spurn point a close second when you could virtually drive down the road to nearly the point. ps my brother les won the 1999 diawa beach open with a cod on his very last cast on spurn road. think he got about 2 grand and some diawa gear for winning it.

Hi my friend. Have learned a lot from you and wish I had taken up sea fishing many years ago. With health and age it-s to late. Your videos help me to think Liam their doing what you do and I think you very much for that. Do you ever have any problems from the police about the knife you have because of the silly laws they now have. Hope you and your family have a good Xmas and wish you and yours a happy and safe new year

I was impressed with the deep hook release method you use.
I normally use a metal scissor to grab the hook and because your holding the scissor it can on occasion mess the fish up more than I'd like to especially with smaller fish.
The bucket of water was also a great tip even just to keep your hands clean.
Thanks for the tips.
Great show

Hi John, loved this video, watched a least 5 times and really enjoyed it. A question for you could you please advise me where to get the little hand warmer you use as unfortunately you did not mention the brand. I suffer from really feeling the cooled in my hands and thought one or two of these woud really help me. Keep up the good work and take care.

Cheers mate, loved it.
Really long flat beach here, hence I tend to fish off one of the three piers, although one is a popular tourist experience, so stuff that. They have no idea what a pain they are! lol
Handwarmers, Check! 2 zippos. I learned that lesson the hard way; )
Stay safe mate, tight lines.

I am in North Norway, and I'm struggling getting the fish to bite during this time of year from the shore. However I do fish during the short hours of daylight. Maybe I should go for some night fishing. But -10 and strong winds doesn't make that idea to tempting X)
