Hello Mr Fish Locker - I'm sorry - perhaps this is not the right place to ask. here goes. I have seen Cornish fishermen/women, have been battling to export their catch. I was thinking about buying fish in bulk, and distribution in my area. Basingstoke and surrounding area. I can only imagine supermarkets undercut them so badly. So I reckon I could offer a slightly better price seeing we are leaving out the big markets. Im sure this has been done already lol (White fridge vans at top of town) But hey I figured the more the merrier. I would start asite where you see what catch is and can either pre order or see whats available. I was wonder besides your good self, do you know any ther local fisherman/women I could chat too? Much appreciated.

Always useful tips, thanx! Here in New Hampshire, April, we are awaiting the return of the alewives, river herring and then the striped bass that will be following. I find myself wondering what type of migratory fish run in your salt rivers? Sea run big brown trout is a favorite sought in these parts. Brook trout and Rainbows that have also adapted from fresh to saline waters. I catch the alewives for lobster bait. A treat is to take the roes, par boil them, roll them in corn meal and fry them up in bacon fat. Fish On! Dean

Hi John, just a few questions about your rod/reel set-up:
1. Would you ever use your Nomura Kanji rod for the close to the wall fishing? If not then why not.
2. What breaking strain braid are you using for the close work on the Spinfisher? Do you use backing line with the braid or is it braid all the way?
Realise you-re very busy but would really appreciate it if you-ll answer these questions as I-m pretty new to fishing.
Thanks
Rhys

Superb video as always, you can-t make them fast enough for me! Haha! I find the fish handling and unhooking very useful. Previous to watching this video I wouldn-t have ever dared target a conger but now I feel like I could even though I-m a million miles from that level. If the day ever comes where I find a conger on the end of my line I-ll remember your advice. Thank you.

Yet another great video, really loved the tips especially the chunks of ground bait. I have often thought about ways to ground bait, and this tip is so easy. Do you think a chopped fish and bread or bran mix would work. Also is there any way to use ground bait when casting from a beach? Can't wait for the next installment. Tight lines

where I fish in the state of Rhode Island they have what is called breach ways same idea as your piers but they use them to keep an opening in the salt pondsopen so that boats can go in and out. They can be great places to fish but usally they have to many people for me. Still your rigs are pretty much the same as we use over here

Love your vids pal. Being a big lover of all things fish. Avid Fish keeper and I love my Coarse fishing. I'm really wanting to get a boat and start sea fishing to see what the UK east coast has to offer. I'm definitely going to try your dead bait technique on this vid for my river pike fishing. Keep up the good work pal: )

I can't help but wonder if using a powerful headlamp destroys the fishes eyesight, I mean they have no way to escape the blinding light. It's dangerous for us to look into these bright. headlights, so surely it's worse for fish? Returning fish safely, but they go back with devastating eye damage perhaps.

Well done John, chumming down the side with little bits of chopped up fish was a good tip, I'll use that trick in future if I'm ever on a stone pier like that, it resulted in a couple of half decent congers for the camera, job done! Nice chunky little shore rockling added a bit of variety too!

Just out of interest do you never keep conger for the table? I've been hassling my local fishmongers for a conger and they never get any. My favourite eating fish are rays, huss/doggies, ling and conger. I never see the attraction in cod or haddock and the usual supermarket favourites.
