A new lobster recipe for the fish locker family, we wanted to bring you something different so we have put together a lobster Mac & cheese! Anon: Banging spot on job. Great job, Mrs. Fish Locker. Mr. Fish Locker cleaned his plate, twice. I might recommend some hot sauce instead of cayenne (for the hit of vinegar/acid, and a few crispy strips of American bacon. Also, add a bit of extra heavy cream to the sauce. Mac and cheese, creamier is better. Most recipes are too dry. Great job using the lobster shells. You did great with the recipe that you were given. A smoked Gouda might suit you more than the sharp Cheddar. Pick what cheeses that you do like for your Mornay sauce. To hell with the negative comments. BTW, my advice is as a Welsh-bred Yank Chef. Cheers! Whoever gave you that recipe, had one of the basic steps wrong. You should add the flour to your melted butter, shells, onions, etc. get it good and brown before you deglaze and add the wine and milk/cream and strain. You are making the basic roux first to your desired darkness, then deglazing and adding your other liquids, then you strain and whisk in the cheese. Roux>Bechamel>Mornay. Basic Mother sauces. Not your fault for following a badly written recipe for something that you have never cooked before.

Enjoyed this one! Have you done a catch and cook of 'baked stuffed lobster cooked outside on the grill' or on a grill set over the campfire? Could not quite hear at the end, which lobster dishes you and the Mrs. have already done. I find that here in New Hampshire, a 'proper' baked stuffed lobster can't be beat, never spare the butter with it. My Mrs. and I have long fished for lobster out of our canoe. I have been licensed by the state to fish for lobster from a canoe, kayak or from my surfboard. Niche fishing along the rocky coast among the reefs where the big boats can't go. Fish on!

Looks absalutely amazing I would of been tempted to put some Worcester sauce in the cheese sauce to add a extra something. And take some of the harshness away from the strong cheese. And maybe some chillie flakes sprinkled over the top as well.
I dont live near the cost but I'm hoping to go try my hand at foraging some time in the near future, if I'm successful I will defo be trying the mac n cheese.
Ok well I'm off now to go raid my fridge and cupboards It seems every time I watch your videos i get extremely hungry. Lol
keep the videos coming guys loving the content. All the best.

Hannah, love, only because you said the dish was nice, I trust it! lol I would've gone with a mild cheese too, afraid anything stinky would overpower the lobster.
Have you shown a lobster bisque yet? (I've missed so much) And I - lobster paella, though had it only once. And instead of fried crab sandwich, how about fried lobster on a nice, thick roll? I'd be bold to try a lobster curry and even attempt a Chinese style black-bean and lobster dish.
I love these catch, clean, and cook videos! And thank you for calling James in for the good-bye. Sorry, but he's the star --

Sorry you can't convince me, lobster should be served with very few or no other flavours, a little lemon, salt and black pepper with butter is good enough for me. Lobster in curry is a complete waste of lobster (tried it once could not taste the meat it could have been conger eel for all I know and paying a small fortune for something you can't taste is just money wasted. Anyway the rest of the pasta bake looked fabulous I would probably attempt that but use diced chicken. Thanks for posting and stay safe.

Dusting off my chefs hat and checking my little black book, I see i made lobster carbonara, swapping lobster for the bacon lardons, do a Hannah did but reduce the sauce further, cook the pasta, drain, return to the pot, add lobster, cheese, sauce, and two egg yolks for a glossy finish, stir over a low heat to nearly cook the eggs, add chopped chives and flat leaved parsley, one more stir then serve onto warmed plates or bowls. It's very tasty.

I hit 'like' before I watched the video. I always do with yours. I ain't been wrong yet! We don't get much fresh lobster in Dudley but if we did, I would have a go at this, it looks delicious. Shame John doesn't like strong cheese. Probably why he wolfed down two helpings so quick lol Another great upload so thanks to you both and especially to Hannah for the 'Masterchef' demo. John, 'We ain't massively extravagant', Hannah's face - a picture!

Looks great! I would suggest a Lobster Bisque. But since you seemed to really like the Mac and Cheese, I feel like I should suggest Lobster Au Gratin. I-m after having some really great Cod Au Gratins in the past, and I think a Lobster Au Gratin would be a serious step up from the Mac And Cheese, especially if you nail the potatoes. Better mouthfeel too, if you ask me.

I've liked the video but it's a dislike on the cooking for me, i think the lobster is cooked as per normal but then adding it to the mac and cheese would essentially over cook it making it chewy, if i did this dish i would cook the 2 dishes separately then just add the lobster in and stir, with an addition of garlic bread, but i love the effort guys thanks

What no American processed cheese? LOL! At first I reckoned this was a request from your youngest and that he'd be joining you in the repast. Wisconsin is internationally known for its sharp cheddar cheese and I despise it. It's all we had growing up. I have to admit I'm such a Lobster snob, I cringed when I saw the title.
