Great Knot for Fluorocarbon Based Lines - The Double San Diego Jam

How to tie the often requested Double San Diego Jam Knot. Used by many salt water anglers, it is a very strong knot for throwing heavier lures on lighter fluorocarbon based line like spoons, crankbaits, jigs and many others. I will go with knot on almost all my flouro based lines under 15lb test

Good video, I originally seen this knot from the Shaw Grigsby video that the other guy mentioned. Your video is clear and I think would be easier to learn from. Thanks Also just a note, you mentioned the scissors hanging to help hold the hook down, my way of doing it ( have did that also) is to hook the single hook or what ever bait into one of the storage box lid hooks and keep the tension on the line, works great

I had some problems with this breaking off at the knot. Very good video though. I found if a palomar is tied slowly and correctly its hard to beat in almost all line to lure applications (FOR ME. Key being stop and retie if you see any abrasions. It only takes losing one 10+lb fish to motivate a retie. Awesome vids though man, keep up the good work.

Used this knot for years. My only criticism of it is the amount of wasted line that is required to form the knot. It can become very expensive if you need to retie frequently.

i've seen this knot tied before, didn't know what it was called. You made it look much easier to tie with your method. Thanks for posting

Nice video. Shaw Grigsby has a video with this same knot, just a different technique to tie it. Your video is a better display of this knot.

That's not a SD Jam Knot. That's a Pitzen Knot. The jam knot passes through the bottom loop before it passes through the upper loop.
