Find Bass in the Grass using Birds

When it's early in the season and there is not a whole lot of vegetation growth, it's always a good ideas to look for the birds. Be commonly think of birds as locating shad, which they do. But certain types of ducks will also feed on the microorganisms living on the fresh green grass. Find the grass, and you can find the bass!

i took this advice and it worked. about a week ago i was fishing a local lake and i noticed 7 or 8 coots diving around a log that had fallen close to the shore. im a shore fisherman so as soon as i saw that, i immediately thought of this video. my first cast with a lipless crank i hooked a decent 2-3 pounder. it was barely hooked and i lost it but i also got a very nice view of it when it got closes to the shore. then the lipless crank just popped out and the bass got away. i was pretty bummed but a bite is better than nothing.

Hey Justin, talked to you today about guides on lake fork, and I was wondering if you were going to do any guiding in the future out there. Will you? If not, can you please list a few of those guides again. Awesome meeting you, thanks.

+LakeForkGuy The goose is not nearly as pretty as your usual fishing partner, Justin lol BTW, were you fishing Fork in this vid or somewhere else. I haven't fished Fork in quite a while, but that sure looks different.

I know you are lake fork guy, but I know all your videos aren't on fork. I wish you would let us know where you were fishing in the video so that we could determine if your tips are applicable to our fishing.

Nice Bass! We just got 14in of snow up here in Minnesota. I can get into some good bass this time of year around here by warm water discharges, they are usually stacked up pretty good.
