I love fishing early spring for the chance at a big one. Here I am fishing a pre spawn where the water is in the high 50's and the bass are feeding in shallow water on a windy day. To target these bass I am fishing a chatter bait and lipless crankbait to pull through shallow vegetation and get a reaction strike from the bass. They crush this chatter bait with a smimbait trailer! You can find my favorite trailers (the Live Magic Shad) www. lftlures. com

Are you still using the exprides? I was going to get a Dobyns 733c for T-rigs but it can wait because there is a sale for a 7'1 Heavy Expride. Is it super stiff or does it have some tip to cast? because I want to use it for lighter texas rigs until I get the 733c.

It's funny in a way to think that our water temps around here just a few days ago were the same as they were for you in early Feb.
Our season is so much shorter around here. I need to move south!

I cannot say how much I love chatter baits! I picked it up in 2015 and never caught so many big fish in my life. Find the Grass, find the bass. Awesome video bro! keep em coming! :)

I've got one for you.
Stradic FK, or Stradic CI4+?
Rod is a 7' med/hvy St. Croix Legend Extreme.
Thank you for your time. It is much appreciated.

Kind of off topic but with ur knowledge of bass I think you could help. Are cat tails a type of cover you can find largemouths targeting for beds during the spawn?

nice video. I've been killing it with the chatterbait here in Arkansas. It's the first time to use it so early. it's been better than crankbaits and jerkbaits
