Strange Sucker Fish Catch while Lure Fishing

I was fishing for largemouth bass with a lipless crankbait when a big buffalo sucker fish decided to swim into my lure! It is rare to catch these fish on any kind of lure, but this one was foul hooked in the back. The fish swam straight at me, and at first, I thought I might have a giant bass on the end on my line. I was fishing 12lb monofilament line on my baitcasting rod and reel, so I had to be careful fighting the fish so as not to break the line or bend the hooks out. These sucker fish have a big powerful tail and fight really hard! The sucker fish sit on the bottom and use their strange fleshy mouth to suck in any sort or crustaceans or small morsels they can. These strange looking fish are often referred to as buffalo because of their dark gray side and the broad head and front section of their body. These funny looking fish are often considered to be carp because of their similar body and mouth position, but they are their own genus of fish and unlike carp, these sucker fish don't have any barbels on their face. This buffalo left my net and my hands covered in slimy mucus, but at least I got my lure back and was able to go back to catching bass on the same lure. Hi, I just bought the shimano stradic 2016 Ci4+ 2500 during Black Friday and was playing around with it when it arrived at my house. However I can't seem to find the anti reverse lever or anyway to prevent the screw in handle to stop going backwards. Can you help? Thanks

I have had a lot of good success with 13 Fishing. I have slowly changed out my reels to the inception. Their customer service is absolutely top notch. They do not have a big following yet, but at one time none of the other JDM companies did either.

Did you hook that buffalo in the mouth? If so, that's pretty rare because they're actually filter feeders. Sorry for the useless information, but when you live in Buffalo, Minnesota you tend to learn these things; ) -Greg-
