great video guys too bad y'all didn't nab a monster but it's always a great video as long as there's lines in the water. and not bad for a first catch on the little gar. I know people that have been at it for a year or more and have yet to hook one let alone land it. hope you can come back to Texas soon and this time you get the monster you are looking for bro

+LakeForkGuy if you don't want to play around with them forever, use a couple trebles with one in the middle of the leader and one on the end. Then wrap pantyhose all down the leader. It gets caught in their teeth quickly and you don't have to fool with them for so long.

I have seen giant gator gar fish when I used to live in central florida at my parents house on Lake picket. 1985 was the year junior in high school. This gar fish I saw was at least 6 foot long. Monster gar.

Use a trap rig for crying out loud. Two hooks one in baits head and one treble hook in the tail, then you don't have to wait 20 minutes, you can set the hook right away.

With those gar you need to use live minnows and put them about a foot down and you will slam them all day. still have to let them eat for days though
