If the flyrod isnt working and you want to try some bait; try bread flake.
Just a pinch of fresh white bread on the hook (just pinch it on and leave the edges fluffy. If you dip this in the water itll add enough casting weight that you can fish freeline- just a hook, no floats or weights etc. if you then flip or swing this bait out beyond the bubbles and draw it slowly back into them, you will often see your line straighten on the surface indicating a bite. Hit it and hold on.

Learning
A size 6 hook with some corn on it amd press it into a bait ball consisting of 2packets oatmeal, 1 can of sweet corn, and 1 pack of strawberry jello all mixed into a gallon bag.
If you are slinging flies at carp (my personal fav and preferred way) get a fly called a carp tickler. You need to find a feeding carp and pitch the fly about 18 ahead of it.

nightcrawlers or dough balls for the carp. if I were you I'd go pick up a Taurus Judge and some 410 shotshells for it. Get a good holster and open carry it while you are out there in the sticks. It's a good option for dealing with aggressive danger noodles. Congrats on the baby y'all! She is cute little booger.

First carp I ever caught on fly was with a green gulf, though I tied the fly for bass the carp sure thought it was a nice piece of algae, I would suggest you use a floatant green small egg type lure for carp. Also try to hit them when it hadnt rained and it has been calm for a couple days.

Dont give up on the fly for the carp, its rewarding once you get it down. Try some heavier weighted flies, cast past tailing fish so that you can drag or strip it as close as you can towards them without hitting them or spooking them with you cast. Good luck!

You need to use carp specific patterns like a scarpion or a flashy pattern for muddy water put the fly in front of the carps face and give it little twitch/ dangle

LOL I definitely like your videos most. Not hating on other Googans, but it's my honest opinion. Oh and Mike too. .. But he's gone from the face of YouTube now. ..
