Fall Bass Fishing Using Crawfish Baits

lakeforkguy How would you recommend fishing a local retention/suburb pond here in Houston, TX during the fall if the pond has no structure at all and doesn't get deeper than 4 to 5 feet? There are monsters in there though man. I've caught 3 in the five pound range and one that was so close to seven. I've been fishing it a couple of months now and I've seen giants that look 10 lbs easy. The only kind of structure it really has is a concrete slab that extends around the entire edge of the pond and it is at a 45 degree angle. The slab extends into the water about 4 feet or so. The edge of the slab where it meets the soft/grassless bottom is where i catch most of these fish. In other words pretty shallow. This pond is not very big, its murky with about a foot of visibility, and it's a dog leg pattern. It is also full of crappie and very big catfish. The bait is unreal in the pond. I threw one cast with a cast net the other day just to see what they are eating, and i caught about 10 (i assume bluegill or perch) ranging from 2 to 5 inches. So these fish are full and hard to catch at times. Any suggestions when they just don't want to bite? The best days i've had are full overcast with a light breeze and light rain out there.

i am so disgusted with fishing right now i'm thinking of selling my boat. today i took all my gear out of it put it all on the wall or closet went to the car wash washed it up nice and pretty. came home and my old lady told me to park it in the shop out back close the door and lock it. and i'm not allowed to even go out there and look at it until i cool off. so i guess i'm keeping it for awhile longer.

Had a tourney today. Finished 5th. Flippin caught 2 on strike king beavers. As that beautiful sunrise appeared in the back of the creek the rest of them boys were facing 10mph winds on the main lake. I was catching them as the sun peeked through the trees on a bridge with rock boulders.

Have you looked into installed some acoustic treatment in your bass cave? Itll definitely help your audio. Lessen the echoes and other noise.
