In this video, my buddy Jesse Minoski and I are installing 480-watts worth of Zamp Solar Panels onto my new Forest River Grey Wolf 22RR toy hauler. With this solar kit, I'll be able to spend extended periods of time off the grid so I can fish some remote locations and still have the comforts of home. We also do a little trout fishing and enjoy some laughs along the way. That's a sweet rig. My wife and I have kicked around the idea of doing something like that once we get our kids graduated and moved out(my youngest is 13yrs old, so I have a few more years to wait)
I saw you or your twin brother in Panama on Mark's video(MDLR Fishing) Looking forward to seeing some of that footage. If your travels take you near my home waters, it would be awesome to get to spend a day catching some redfish with you.

For the days that your not getting solar, have you considered adding a 300 Watt Vertical Access wind turbine? You could mount the pole on side of the RV, then you'd have the secondary charge. The bonus would be when your driving, it would be charging your batteries. The ALEKO WGVQ400 400W 12V 3-Phase Permanent Magnet AC Synchronous Wind Generator Turbine is available at walmart for under 500.

Great video. Just a thought about the brackets you made for the batteries, you might want to support the middle with a bracket so while on the road the bouncing wont make them sag. The batteries are heavy and theres a wide gap between where the tongue splits.
Hate to see you on the side of the road with one of the batteries dragging on the ground.

Hey Robert I just bought a travel trailer myself and was curious why you didnt run a inverter style quiet generator and went with the Solaris seems with the weight of the batteries and the inability to run major comfort appliances you lose out in the long run when you factor in weight, expenses of the solar set up why that over a generator

Wow, you should have had CampingWorld do that job. Felt like there was a lot of guesswork there. Also you will be surprised how little power youre going to get with just 2 panels and how little of the 4 batteries you have you will be able to use. Did you do any solar power research before committing on the products you are using?

Alright, not only did you complete a major accomplishment with the panels, but you are going to be in Scott Martin's backyard (essentially, at least that is what he calls the lake. Can't wait to see the bass you snag. This was a great VLOG Robert.
I know exactly how you felt about drilling those holes, but it got done. nice.

Great video on the install. One thing im not sure if you did or not. That hole where the wires come through from your bedroom to the storage area to the control panel. Fill that hole where the wire came through. Mice seem to always get into the storage areas and thats the last thing youd need.

I had to ask my old man about the battery diagram I was curious if it was done the way he would do it and this is what he said I would have run 4 12 volts in parallel so that they wouldn't up the voltage but they would give you more storage power.

Dude, why didnt you install the controller in your bedroom so you dont have to go outside to check it? Id do regular checks on those batteries too. The battery install makes me nervous. Totally armchair quarterbacking ya here. Only love!

Fill that hole with one of those plastic things that goes through the wire organizer in an office desk. It will fill it up nicely and you can run the wires through it. Wil look like it was there all along
