In this episode it's our last day on Cedros Island in Mexico, and Ronco will be picking us up in the 6 seater plane around midday. We leave the kayaks at the lodge and hop in the pangas to chase a variety of fish, from calico bass to whitefish to the bizarre (but tasty) California Sheephead. Then it's time to say goodbye after another incredible Field Trip

Great video, Im not saying your wrong or anything like that, but those California sheephead look more like a ras fish than a sheephead. I caught many of east coast sheephead and they look nothing alike. East coast sheep head have squared off teeth and the body are oval like a porgy or football style. Those Cali sheep have sharp teeth and the body looks more like a taug tog

Hey Robert, My son is the manager of the bait barge in Dana Point and They still catch em down there. However here in Long Beach area the water is sick and with shipping They have ruined the Horseshoe Kelp area which was the home of all the fishery in the area. The ocean is sick here, Down south it's still pretty good! Fish on My friend!

The bearing under the star drag on the lexas gets tweaked out of alignment if you fish it on really heavy locked drag. It causes the drag to slip. Easy to replace.
Also the cudas on the west coast love a chrome surface iron. Single hook preferred.
Ps. Where can I buy those vertical lures.

Nice work Robert! I was fishing for Lings in Santa Cruz and broke my baitcast rod using the same spoons. Which Phenix are you using? Keep up the great work.

The drag on the lexa 400 was probably slipping because they didnt put tape on the spool before filling it up. Happened to me once
