Scott, I know you and Robert are top water, shallow water, Sight Fisherman but at all these lakes with their cold water temperatures you have been leaving a lot of big bass a lone. Big Bass are temperature creatures, when temperatures rise they will go shallow but the big males will go run smaller males off of a bed or they go back to a old bed that just needs a dusting off. The big underwater structures like submissive islands, creek beds and canons are their normal cold water homes. This is specially true because they will go back to these if the water temperatures get to warm they will go back to these locations.
