This video recaps our recent 5-hour livestream with Joe Stepongzi (Bearded Hardware), where we briefly grabbed a world record #1 single-card score with the RTX 3080 FTW3. Our RTX 3090 Founders Edition review is due shortly, after which we'll likely be focusing on RTX 3090 overclocking. For now, though, this recaps many of the things we learned about Ampere overclocking (particularly extreme overclocking), GDDR6X memory overclocking, and more. We have a lot more tests coming up in the next few days, so keep an eye out for all of it.

Jayz did his RIP GN stream for the 3080 today, he hit 12387 just with fans and a/c (no ice etc). But, at the beginning he took the time to belittle anyone who said the 3080 launch was too low of stock/paper launch... then pointed to all the hall of fame posts on Port Royal proved that people bought 3080's on launch day... LOL... 'cause everyone knows no one listed there works in the industry, is a competitive overclocker or tech reviewer who would have been given the cards for promotional purposes....
For anyone curious about the 9/24 3090 launch here are comments I found on the Micro Center site:
Micro Center We are expecting a very limited quantity of cards for the RTX 3090 launch on Thursday the 24th. We anticipate quantities of less than 10 in total per store.
Tustin MicroCenter 3090 Sign Up Sheet:
tinyurl.com/3090mc #'s 1-26 are guaranteed a 3090
Houston 11 3090s for Houston have been accounted for; vouchers have been handed out
Dallas there are currently 7 cards reserved and 3 more comes tomorrow so in total 10 cards
NY somewhere there were only 16 and that they'd hand out vouchers to the first 16 people in line Pic online reference Gov Cuomo...
Overland Park 8 EVGA XC3's and 2 Asus
Denver The Store Manager came out and told us that they only got 10 of the 3090's
Westmont The words is they have 11 cards
Brentwood 3090 the store will only have 5
Chicago only 3 cards available but a shipment was just received with GPU's. Dont know yet if they are 80's or 90's
So the 3090 may have even less supply... Newegg said they had bot protection in place for the previous launch and all purchases were to people , Micro Center did in person store sales (no bots possible).... So how will Nvidia blame the shortage on the bots this time?

I watched the stream vod, but I still want to share my appreciation for these extra recap videos. Things get lost over those long streams, you have to stop and do things in the middle, and it's always good to have things boiled down, plus it helps keep a lot of other people informed and in the loop. So, as always, thank you for your hard work and dedication, we appreciate it.

Coming from someone who deals with sensing instruments for a living I would be interested to find out if it was a software issue or something related to the range of the sensor. It is possible that the sensor goes into an over range or fault state which by default tells the software to assume an artificially inflated value to protect the hardware.

Interesting, as always! Why are you operating these LN2 sessions in an open setup, i.e. under natural atmosphere with all its moist? Why not building a case with the LN2 reservoir accessible from outside, while inside you're providing a synthetic atmosphere without any moisture (e.g. plain Nitrogen)?

For the love of all that is good, it would be straight GOLD if someone could crop Steve's hair and put it over Joe with his beard, or vice versa..
Really it makes me wonder would Steve be the catcher since he has hair for Joe to grab and can reach back and grab Joe's beard to stability

Do you ever think to put the GPU on a riser cable to remove the chance of water in the socket?
Could you then fit the pot 180 degrees so the slot is at the top??? is there clearance from the socket to the pot of does Kingpin need to make the thermal pad area thicker to push the pot out?

11:00 i have the datasheet in front of me and i'm not sure why you're messing in that area? changing REFADJ-REFIN-VREF sounds like a good way to get into troubles. is that really the only way to change voltage? :(
also MOAR FLUX DAMMIT! :D

I'm wondering if it would be worth dehumidifying the air in the room before an extreme cooling session, since moisture in the air is most likely what leads to condensation and water build up on the parts. Even 30% RH would improve that markedly.

Great vid , rocketing to the top in record time , entertainment extraordinaire by tech wizards Steve and Joe . Real tangible magic . And congrats to TecLabs who found room for a brilliant response at what is perhaps the ceiling for this version .

BeardedHardware I like the look of that microscope you were using. I am looking for a low-power microscope I can use for plant identification (I'm a botanist). Would you mind sharing the make/model, so that I can check it out?
