so. One one hand people complain about how RIDICULOUS graphics card pricing is talking about RTX2080Ti etc, but on the other hand people are below talking about how great 200 graphics cards can be. I've been PC gaming for a while and IMO you get a lot more bang for your buck than you did ten years ago however not if you get top-end components. The quality in gaming diminishes more rapidly than it did in the past. Possibly because we have consistently higher resolutions (thus less aliasing issues) but also it seems there's a good baseline in terms of quality on low/medium settings. So it's really not that comparable anymore. You can build a pretty great mid-range gaming system (case + internals) for roughly 800 to 1000USD now.

On the AMD API not spinning down instantly after you set it. that sounds very much like a safety counter (in application volatile memory hence why it goes away on reboot) that is programmed in as a protection to keep it at that rpm for a set interval as an interlock so that if a user had set their fan profile high and pushed their card hard the fans would have an ungodly amount of time to dissipate heat even with a profile change, why its not entirely based on actual thermal readings seems like very poor programming. This is speculation I haven't dug into the application but from a programming perspective this is one likely scenario

I definitely agree with the drivers issue. All through the 2019 drivers the fan curves have been screwed. At the fourth node and onwards for manual curves the fans completely ignore the curve and ramp up a load, which really is my sole issue. Sapphire Trixx has been able to maintain lower temperatures at lower fan speeds somehow. I do love being able to set different wattman profiles for different games, even if amd doesnt detect them all (it doesnt seem to detect microsoft store games, and being able to set voltage and clock speeds for different loads in the profile is nice too.

IMHO, AMD kind fcuked in GPU space. they should only release rx5700 with xt specs, and rx 5600 as 5700 specs (but kept the prcing, and only launch one SKUs at a time. I don't see why Rx 5500xt exists, can't even thrived with rx590, they own GPU. Now lets just say they launch rx5600 for some reason, where would the tier equivalent to Nvidia Skus? 1660 ti? rtx 2060? I can definitely tell even though Nvidia kinda fcuk us up with 16's series with bunch of SKUs, it has clearer path for customer to choose. I don't see any value to buy rx5500. rather buy rx 580/590 or Nvidia's 16's series.

Would you consider doing a video showing that all the overclocking twaddle has the potential to do something other then to effect a users actual experience negatively. Even just showing that an actual user could tell the difference between an overclocked and stock system on anything since Bush was president would be appreciated. After failing to acheive this you will be able to get ride of half the entrys on your charts making the points you are trying to make much, much, much, much easier to relay.

I have a great problema and would graddly aprecciate any kind of guidance. I dont have really much money and can only go for a 1650 super or this one. Even though i could add some extra 50 bucks for a 1660 super I want to buy a 144hz monitor for 1080p gaming. So my problema is that those monitors are really expensive and even more if they are Gsync compatible. So thats why i mostly want the 5500 xt so i can buy a cheaper monitor with freesync. Please help guys.

Something you skipped over, and is worth mentioning: In all but one test (GTA5) the 5500XT was within single digits of the 580. The 580 is basically just a rebranded 480, and has been selling for 160-180 for some time now. Basically, they just released a card that barely beats out a 3 1/2 year card at the same price. I'm sure it's cheaper for them to produce, so good for their shareholders I guess? But from a consumer POV that is absolutely pathetic.

I honestly just hate products like this, prices of the current cards are too high for what they do, THOSE need to drop in price, and newer better cards need to be released. Like honestly, WHY release this shitty card (same for Nvidia with the 1650 crap etc) its no better then the RX590 RX580 RX480. at the end of 2019, who wants this? seriously. COME ON GPU MAKERS, its like a good time to build a PC in every way BUT for the damn GPU's >: L

Hello! I will be really grateful if you could help me with my problem. So, I bought a ryzen 5 2600x for 125 and I will be pairing it with a 5700xt red devil to play AAA games in 1440p resolution. The ryzen 5 3600 costs 200 here in Greece. Did I make a mistake? Should I return the 2600x and buy the 3600? There is a huge price difference between them, so is it actually worth it, or will I be fine with the 2600x? Thank you!

I Just want to notice as history like to repeat itself nv at start has maxed drivers and with time max they gain(2% fps boost ) and amd get better and better drivers till around 1year up to (15-20% )and why you didnt look on 5500xt atm = rx580 but ( -40% less power draw 100W vs 180+W ) so in the long run amd win again ( for example look for 470 first benchs < 1050ti / and yearlater 470/570 = 1060 6gb / radeonVII
